Blanton Dormitory, 2500 Block University

Occurred on 9-15-02 at 2:25 a.m.

Criminal Trespass: Two UT students were observed by the UT Police attempting to enter a restricted area after hours. Subjects were issued criminal trespass warnings.

Brackenridge Hall Dormitory, 207 East 21st Street

Occurred on 9-13-02 between 1:37 p.m. and 5:35 p.m.

Suspicious Person / Harassment: Several harassing telephone calls were received inside a third floor dormitory room. The resident identified the caller as a non-UT subject who had approached her after the UT-North Texas football game and attempted to gain personal information and entry into the dormitory. Subject is described as: White male, 6'2", 180 lbs., blonde hair and hazel eyes. (Picture of subject available at: UTPD B.O.L.O.).

Calhoun Hall, #4 South Mall

Occurred on 9-13-02 at 3:55 p.m.

Criminal Trespass: A non-UT subject was observed by UT Police entering a restricted area after having received a prior written criminal trespass warning. Subject was involved in a prior Assault by Threat (UTPD 0205581).

Central Receiving Building, 2200 Comal Street

Occurred on 9-14-02 at 5:20 a.m.

Criminal Trespass: A non-UT subject was observed inside a restricted area digging through the dumpsters. Subject was issued a criminal trespass warning for the area.

Etter-Harbin Alumni Center, 2110 San Jacinto Blvd.

Occurred on 9-15-02 at 4:50 p.m.

Criminal Trespass: A non-UT subject was observed camping underneath the westside pedestrian footbridge. Subject received a written criminal trespass warning.

E. William Doty Fine Arts Building, 2301 Trinity Street

Occurred between 9-14-02 at 4:00 a.m. and 9-15-02 at 12:30 a.m.

Burglary of Coin-Operated Machine: The money receptors, for both coin and dollar bills were removed from a Coca Cola vending machine located on the first floor. Repair value: $400.00. Loss value is undetermined at this time.

Peter T. Flawn Academic Center, #2 West Mall

Occurred on 9-15-02 at 1:58 p.m.

Assault: A UT student approached another UT student and stated, "If you ever shush me again I'll kill you." The subject then grabbed the student's throat and began choking him.

Gregory Gymnasium, 2101 Speedway

Occurred on 9-14-02 between 2:45 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.

Theft: A wallet containing $50.00 in U.S. currency and various identification cards were removed from an unsecured backpack. At approx. 5:00 pm the passenger inside a dark colored vehicle traveling south in the 2000 block of San Jacinto was observed throwing an object out that was later identified as the wallet stolen from Gregory Gym. Loss value $50.00.

Gregory Gymnasium, 2101 Speedway

Occurred on 9-13-02 at 8:25 p.m.

Suspicious Person: An unknown male ran into Gregory Gym claiming he had been exposed to some chemicals while at Zilker Park and that he was having an allergic reaction. The subject then ran into the showers and stripped down. When informed that the Police had been notified the subject became agitated, dressed and ran from the building. Subject is described as: White male, short brown hair and facial acne. Was last seen wearing a blue t-shirt and black running shorts.

Jesse H. Jones Communication Center, Building A, 2504-A Whitis Ave.

Occurred on 9-14-02 at 10:40 p.m.

Criminal Trespass: A non-UT subject was observed setting up camp underneath the west stairwell. During the investigation it was determined the subject had received a prior written criminal trespass warning for the area.

Jesse H. Jones Communication Center, Building A, 2504-A Whitis Ave.

Occurred on 9-13-02 between 1:30 p.m. and 5:10 p.m.

Theft: A three-feet by four-feet black doormat was stolen from outside a second floor office. Loss value: $10.00.

Beauford H. Jester Center West, 210 East 21st Street

Occurred on 9-14-02 between 2:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.

Theft: A blue Trek, model 820, 21-speed mountain bicycle secured with a cable combination lock was stolen from the inner Jester courtyard. Loss value $250.00.

Occurred on 9-14-02 at 4:25 p.m.

Criminal Trespass / Assist Outside Agency: A non-UT subject was observed entering a restricted area by UT Police officers. During the investigation it was determined the subject had an outstanding outside agency warrant for Aggravated Assault with Serious Bodily Injury.

Beauford H. Jester Center West, 210 East 21st Street

Occurred on 9-12-02 at 9:38 p.m.

Possession of a Controlled Substance / Criminal Trespass: Three UT students were observed smoking marijuana inside a stairwell located on the 13th floor. Subjects ran when approached by a resident assistant. Several subjects and one non-UT subject where later discovered hiding inside closets located on the sixth floor.

Beauford H. Jester Center West, 210 East 21st Street

Occurred on 9-13-02 at 1:30 a.m.

Harassment: A UT student made several harassing telephone calls to a tenth floor dormitory room. The caller identified himself as a UT police officer and stated the resident was under investigation as a theft suspect.

Occurred 9-14-02 at 4:30 a.m.

Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor: A UT student, under the legal age of 21, was observed passed out inside a vehicle with the engine running. Subject had a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath.

Occurred on 9-12-02 at 8:30 p.m.

Criminal Trespass: A non-UT subject was observed sleeping inside a restricted area located on the second floor. Subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning.

Kinsolving Dormitory, 2605 Whitis Ave.

Occurred on 9-15-02 at 1:30 a.m.

Suspicious Person: A non-UT subject pulled up in front of Kinsolving Dormitory in a blue late model Nissan four-door vehicle and was quickly recognized by UT students from BOLO pictures posted around the dormitory as the same subject involved in several incidents at Jester Dormitory. Subject had left the area prior to the arrival of UT Police officers. Subject is described as: White male, 6'2", 180 lbs., short blond hair and hazel eyes. Parking Garage #5, 2017 Robert Dedman drive

Occurred on 9-15-02 between 4:15 a.m. and 5:13 a.m.

Criminal Mischief: The wooden control gate located on the north end of the building was discovered broken and laying on the pavement. Repair value: $50.00

George I. Sánchez Building, 1912 Speedway

Occurred on 9-14-02 at 9:51 p.m.

Criminal Trespass: Two non-UT subjects observed a UT Police Officer and started running since they had alcohol in their possession and were in a restricted area. Both received a written criminal trespass warning for the area.

Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center, 1900 Red River

Occurred on 9-15-02 at 9:46 p.m.

Criminal Trespass: A non-UT subject was observed urinating on the east side of the building. Subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning.

Union Building, #4 West Mall

Occurred on 9-13-02 at 6:00 p.m.

Criminal Trespass: A non-UT subject was observed sleeping inside an area that is restricted to students, facility and staff only. Subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning.

Union Building, #4 West Mall

Occurred between 9-14-02 at 10:00 a.m. and 9-15-02 at 1:15 a.m.

Graffiti: A Swastika spray-painted in orange aerosol spray-paint, along with the words "White Power" was discovered inside a secured custodial closet on the second floor. Repair value: $100.00.

200 block East 24th Street

Occurred on 9-13-02 at 6:40 a.m.

Suspicious Activity: An unknown male was observed carrying a computer. Subject was described as a white male last seen wearing dark shirt and multi colored shorts. No description given on the computer.

1900 block Robert Dedman Drive

Occurred on 9-13-02 at 3:20 p.m.

Con / Bunco Scam: Two unknown subjects stopped a UT student and offered to sell him two large stereo speakers that were in the back of a silver or white Ford Expedition. Subjects were described as a white male and a black male (no other description.) Five non-UT subjects have been identified by UT Police using a white 2000/2001 Ford Expedition to sell stereo speakers since November 2001. Subjects frequent Parking Lot 99, 2000 Red River and Whitaker Field (Intramural Fields), at 5100 Guadalupe. Subjects tell victims they work for a company that bought too many high quality name brand speakers and they are selling them at a major discount. Victims later find out that the cartons the speakers come in have computer-generated labels and the speakers are way below market standards and are of third rate quality.
