Occurred on 9-24-02 between 11:05 a.m. and 11:45 a.m.
Theft: A black leather wallet with a gold design on the corner was stolen out of a backpack that was left in an unsecured locker located in a men's locker room on the 9th floor. Wallet contained $400.00 cash, assorted credit cards and identification cards.
Experimental Science Building, 100 East 24th Street
Occurred on 9-23-02 between 12 noon and 3:00 p.m.
Theft: A brown leather Fossil checkbook-style wallet was stolen from a purse that was left on the floor by a desk in an unsecured second floor office. Wallet contained bank checks, assorted credit cards and identification. Loss value: $10.00.
T. S. Painter Hall, 103 West 24th Street
Occurred on 9-24-02 between 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m.
Theft: A red and silver Magna 21-speed bicycle was stolen from the northeast side of the building while it was secured to a landscaping chain fence with a cable lock. Loss value: $200.00.
Parking Garage #1, 2401 San Jacinto Blvd.
Occurred between 9-22-02 at 7:00 p.m. and 9-24-02 at 8:00 p.m.
Criminal Mischief: The right side window was broken out of a green 1995 GMC pickup truck that was parked on level four. Repair cost: $200.00.
Parking Lot 107, 2500 North IH-35
Occurred between 9-20-02 at 9:00 p.m. and 9-24-02 at 10:30 a.m.
Criminal Mischief: The left rear opera window was broken out of a white Honda that was parked in the north side of the Parking Lot. Repair cost: $150.00.
Parking Lot 112, Manor Road at Comal Street
Occurred on 9-23-02 at 4:30 p.m. and 9-24-02 at 7:15 a.m.
Burglary of Motor Vehicle: The driver's side window was broken out of a 1999 black Ford Mustang and a Kenwood KDCX715 AM/FM/CD player along with the equalizer were stolen. Pry marks were found on the rear speakers and the trunk lock. Repair cost: $1,000.00. Loss value: $475.00.
Recreational Sports Center, 2001 San Jacinto Blvd.
Occurred on 9-19-02.
Theft: A UT student used a day locker that was secured with his own personal lock. When he left, he left a wedding ring in the day locker on 9-19-02 at 11:30 am. He realized he had left the ring in the locker and returned at 1:30 pm to find someone else was using the locker with their own personal lock. A note was left on the locker with the ring owner's name. He returned an hour later and found the locker empty and the ring stolen. Loss value: $500.00.
Union Building, #4 West Mall
Occurred on 9-24-02 at 4:30 p.m.
Criminal Trespass: Two non-UT subjects were found on the third floor in an area that is reserved for students, faculty and staff. One subject, who had received a prior criminal trespass warning, was arrested for criminal trespass. The second subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning.
Occurred on 9-24-02 at 7:20 a.m.
Criminal Trespass: A non-UT subject was found sleeping within the fenced area surrounding the Santa Rita oil rig. Subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning.
Occurred on 9-24-02 at 8:40 p.m.
Criminal Trespass: A non-UT subject was observed throwing rocks near cars. There had been a prior incident where a rock was used to burglarize a car on a prior date. Subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning.
