Criminal Trespass: A non-UT subject was found loitering in a 1st floor men's restroom without using the facilities. Subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning.

Etter-Harbin Alumni Center, 2110 San Jacinto Blvd.

Occurred on 10-18-02 between 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Loss value: $1,467.00.

Theft: Four University of Texas demo class rings were stolen when they were on display in the Frank Denius Concourse while class ring orders were being taken. They were described as two women's 10K gold traditional rings, one women's 10K gold signet ring and one men's 10K gold traditional ring.

Beauford H. Jester Center East, 203 East 21st Street

Occurred between 10-15-02 at 4:00 p.m. and 10-18-02 at 2:30 a.m.

Harassing Communication: Several lewd telephone calls were received in a dormitory room on the sixth floor. The caller sounded like he was Hispanic in his mid to late 20's. A second male subject could be heard talking in the background but nothing specific could be heard.

Parlin Hall, #2 South Mall

Occurred on 10-21-02 at 3:30 a.m.

Criminal Trespass: A UT student was found inside a first floor office after using force to gain entry into the room. Subject was found in a state of undress, engaged in obscene conduct, while using a computer in the office.

J. T. Patterson Laboratories Building, 2415 Speedway

Occurred on 10-17-02 between 9:00 a.m. and 6:45 p.m.

Theft: A bright yellow M500 Cannondale bicycle was stolen from a bicycle rack on the west side of the building while it was secured with a cable and key lock. Loss value: $300.00.

Perry-Castañeda Library, 101 East 21st Street

Occurred on 10-18-02 between 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.

Theft: A 12" x 18" light blue Gap shoulder bag was stolen from the southeast corner of the sixth floor. The bag contained a Sony tape recorder and keys. The name "Philip Darst" was on the down-tube in black stick-on letters. Loss value: $30.00.

Sarah M. and Charles E. Seay Building, 108 East Dean Keeton

Occurred on 10-18-02 between 12:00 noon and 3:38 p.m.

Theft: A silver and purple men's Schwinn bicycle was stolen while it was secured to a handrail on the south side of the building on 10-18-02 between 12:00 noon and 3:00 pm. At 3:38 pm the owner saw an unknown subject riding his bicycle at 26th and Speedway. The owner chased the subject to 24th and Speedway and recovered his bicycle. The unknown subject was last seen walking east between Taylor Hall and Geology Building. Subject was described as a Hispanic male, 30 years of age, 5'8", 150 pounds with black hair and a mustache. Subject was last seen wearing a long sleeve shirt with horizontal blue and red stripes and blue jeans.

Sutton Hall, 210 West 21st Street

Occurred on 10-20-02 at 6:00 p.m.

Burglary of Motor Vehicle / Public Intoxication / Resisting Arrest: A non-UT subject was observed by witnesses picking up a backpack that belonged to a UT student when it was left unattended in a room on the fourth floor. When confronted, the subject dropped the backpack and left the building carrying two CD cases. UT Police found the subject in the 2200 block of Guadalupe. Subject was found to be under the influence of an alcohol beverage to the point he was an endangerment to himself. One of the CD cases was stolen from an unsecured motor vehicle that was parked in the 2000 block of University since 4:00 pm. Subject physically resisted officers as they placed him under arrest. A Casio calculator was found stuffed in his underwear.

Union Building, #4 West Mall

Occurred on 10-19-02 at 7:25 p.m.

Criminal Trespass: A non-UT subject was found on the third floor in an area that is reserved for students, staff and faculty. Subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning.

West Mall

Occurred on 10-19-02 at 9:42 p.m.

False Report / Criminal Trespass: A non-UT subject was observed by a UT police officer pushing the button on the Police Help call box on the north side of Battle Hall. Subject then saw the officer and began walking away. Subject stated that he pushed the Police Help button to report a conspiracy in the Middle East. Subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning.

1900 IH-35

Occurred on 10-18-02 at 11:08 p.m.

Possession of a Controlled Substance / Assist an Outside Agency: Witnesses observed a vehicle traveling westbound on Martin Luther King Blvd., east of IH-35, strike the north curbline several times, jump the curb and come to rest in Parking Lot 104. Vehicle was being operated by a non-UT subject. There were also two children in the car. One was approximately two and a half years old and the other was less than one year old. Marijuana and prescription medication was found in the vehicle. The female driver was taken to the hospital by EMS and the children were turned over to Austin Police Victim's Services.
