Graduate School of Business, 100 West 21st Street

Occurred between 10-17-02 at 2:00 p.m. and 10-22-02 at 10:45 a.m.

Theft: Three textbooks were stolen from a second floor locker after it was secured with a combination lock. The combination lock that secured the locker was also stolen. The textbooks were for courses in marketing, physiology and business communication. Loss value: $200.00.

Gregory Gymnasium, 2101 Speedway

Occurred on 10-22-02 between 2:10 p.m. and 3:15 p.m.

Theft: A black LL Bean backpack was stolen when it was left in an unsecured day locker that was located in a first floor men's locker room. Backpack contained a brown leather tri-fold wallet, TI graphics calculator, Buck knife, keys and assorted clothing. The wallet contained assorted identification cards, hunting license and no cash. Loss value: $75.00.

Beauford H. Jester Center West, 201 East 21st Street

Occurred on 10-22-02 at 3:15 p.m.

Harassing Communication: An annoying telephone call was made to a ninth floor dormitory room. The same type of call has been made to several rooms on the ninth floor and several other floors. The caller was a male subject.

Occurred between 10-22-02 at 8:00 a.m. and 10-23-02 at 6:30 p.m.

Graffiti: A large black permanent marking pen was used to write gang-style symbols on the wall and a mirror that is located in a first floor lobby restroom. Removal cost: $150.00.

Parking Lot 103, 2100 Comal Street

Occurred on 10-22-02 between 8:30 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.

Criminal Mischief: Two deep gouges and several small scratches were found on the left front bumper of a silver 2003 Honda that had been parked on the east side of the Parking Lot. Repair cost: $300.00.

Recreational Sports Center, 2001 San Jacinto Blvd.

Occurred on 10-22-02.

Theft: A blue and black Austin Clothing Company backpack was stolen from a first floor coin-operated locker because the owner did not use a coin to secure the locker. The backpack contained a Motorola cellular telephone, a checkbook, a U.S. Latin Relations textbook, assorted clothing and $40.00 cash.

Recreational Sports Center, 2001 San Jacinto Blvd.

Occurred on 10-22-02 between 7:15 p.m. and 8:49 p.m.

Theft: A black and red Pak (from REI) backpack was stolen from a secured day locker that was located in a first floor men's locker room. The key lock that secured the locker was also stolen. The backpack contained $70.00 cash, assorted credit cards and identification cards. Loss value: $100.00.

San Jacinto Residence Hall, 309 East 21st Street

Occurred between 10-21-02 at 8:00 p.m. and 10-22-02 at 10:00 a.m.

Criminal Mischief: BB gun pellets were used to cut fifteen holes in the south wall of the ground floor South Tower TV lounge that is across the hall from the laundry room. A BB gun pellet also damaged a ceiling light. Repair cost: $300.00.

San Jacinto Residence Hall, 309 East 21st Street

Occurred on 10-23-02 at 12:40 a.m.

Discharging Prohibited Weapons: Three unknown subjects were seen taking turns firing a BB gun on the west side of the building. Subjects were described as a white male, Hispanic male and a black male. The black male was approximately 18 to 19 years of age, 5'10", and 170 pounds. The hair on the subject's head hung in braids. The black male subject was initially identified as possibly being a UT football player or a track athlete who might have a twin brother.

Union Building, #4 West Mall

Occurred on 10-22-02 at approximately 12:35 p.m.

Forgery: A counterfeit ten-dollar bill was passed at the Bistro, which is located on the second floor. An unidentified female subject (no other description at this time) approached the cashier and stated that the cashier had given her the counterfeit bill as part of her change.

Walter Webb Hall, 2500 Guadalupe

Occurred on 10-23-02 at 6:00 a.m.

Criminal Trespass: A non-UT subject was identified loitering in the garage parking area. Subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning.

2100 Guadalupe

Discovered on 10-22-02 at 3:35 p.m.

Graffiti: Black spray paint and a stencil was used to write a word on the limestone wall next to the sidewalk. Repair cost: $250.00.
