Ernest Cockrell Jr. Hall, 301 East Dean Keeton

Occurred on 10-23-02 at 4:59 p.m.

Theft: A UT student responded to a laptop computer being sold on E-bay by sending $800.00 by Western Union to a subject in Moville, Iowa. Western Union confirmed that the money had been picked up but no computer was sent and seller has not responded to any follow-up e-mails.

Frank C. Erwin Special Events Center, 1701 Red River

Occurred between 9-1-02 and 10-27-02 at 10:00 a.m.

Theft: Two black wireless Audio Technica ATW-T73 microphones and one silver Shure SM57 microphone were stolen from an unsecured first floor electronic equipment room. Loss value: $1,075.00.

Gregory Gymnasium, 2101 Speedway

Occurred on 10-26-02 at 5:30 p.m.

Criminal Trespass: A non-UT subject entered the building without showing any UT identification. Subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning.

Jesse H. Jones Communication Center, Building A, 2504A Whitis Avenue

Occurred between 10-24-02 at 8:10 p.m. and 10-25-02 at 7:30 a.m.

Burglary: Two Phillips DVDR 985 DVD recorder players, and two 40-hour digital video Replay TV 4504 recorders were stolen from an audio video room on the second floor. On 10-24-02 at 8:10 pm the room was secured and the security alarm system was activated. On 10-25-02 at 7:30 am staff arrived and found the room unlocked and the security alarm system deactivated. A Post-It note was found in the room from Custodial Services that stated a crew had cleaned and waxed the floor and they hoped the building staff liked the clean floor. Loss value: $2,350.00.

Joe C. Thompson Conference Center, 2405 Robert Dedman Drive

Occurred on 10-26-02 at 5:20 a.m.

Suspicious Activity: A non-UT subject was seen on the outside of the building, pulling on the northwest lower level doors to the cafeteria. When a staff member went to the door to see what the subject wanted, the subject ran away. Subject was recognized as a former employee who used to work in the building.

Kinsolving Dormitory, 2605 Whitis Avenue

Occurred on 10-28-02 at 11:25 p.m.

Criminal Trespass: A non-UT subject was found without an escort in the residence area on the fourth floor. Subject stated that he was there to visit a female resident whom he met once but who had not given him permission to be there. Subject has a history of loitering in the building, annoying female residents and asking them for dates. Subject became belligerent when he was told to leave. Subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning.

Littlefield Home, 302 West 24th Street

Occurred on 10-26-02 at 11:57 p.m.

Criminal Trespass / Assist an Outside Agency: A non-UT subject was found camping in front of the entrance door. Subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning. Subject was found to have an outstanding outside agency arrest warrant for a traffic violation.

Parking Garage 3, 200 East Martin Luther King Blvd.

Occurred on 10-26-02 at 5:20 p.m.

Possession of a Controlled Substance / Possession of Narcotic Paraphernalia: Two UT students were found in the stairwell of level seven smoking marijuana. One subject was found in possession of a 6" long ceramic pipe that contained marijuana residue.

Parking Lot 58, 2500 San Jacinto Blvd.

Occurred on 10-1-02 and 10-26-02.

Criminal Mischief: On approximately 10-1-02 a four-foot scratch was made along the driver's side of a 2001 green Toyota. On 10-26-02 at 11:00 pm a word was found written on the vehicle with an aerosol can of artificial type snow. Repair cost for scratch: $300.00.

Peter T. Flawn Academic Center, #2 West Mall

Occurred on 10-27-02 at 7:30 p.m.

Criminal Trespass: A non-UT subject was found sleeping on the third floor in an area that is reserved for students, staff and faculty. Subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning.

Roberts Hall Dormitory, 303 East 21st Street

Discovered on 10-24-02 at 5:00 p.m.

Criminal Mischief: Screws were removed from a first floor dormitory door handle and the corresponding locking mechanism. The wood around the door's lock had been chipped away. Repair cost: $150.00.

Union Building, #4 West Mall

Occurred between 10-25-02 at 3:00 a.m. and 10-26-02 at 3:00 a.m.

Graffiti: A black felt marking pen was used to write gang-style letters on a door inside a second floor men's restroom that is located next to the Cactus Caf. Removal cost: $20.00.

Union Building, #4 West Mall

Occurred on 10-26-02 between 10:00 p.m. and 10:35 p.m.

Theft: A khaki canvas Gap purse with brown strap and yellow stripe was stolen from the first floor Underground. The purse had been placed on a seat on a lane next to the steps that lead up to the lobby. Victim had been bowling with her children. The purse contained a light brown leather Bass Co. wallet with a zipper on top, $50.00 cash, a black Nokia cellular telephone, car keys, a checkbook, assorted credit cards and identification cards. Loss value: $120.00.

2200 San Jacinto Blvd.

Occurred on 10-26-02 at 6:30 p.m. and 7:03 p.m.

Public Intoxication (2 Counts): A non-UT subject was found under the influence of an alcoholic beverage to the point he was an endangerment to himself. Subject could not stand and had trouble sitting in a chair. Subject stated that he had come to the football game with his father. Approximately 30 minutes later the father was found passed out, due to alcohol poisoning, on the south side of Parking Garage 1, 2402 San Jacinto.

200 West 24th Street

Occurred on 10-27-02 between 2:00 p.m. and 8:09 p.m.

Criminal Mischief: A 2002 white Honda Metropolitan moped was forcibly moved to Parking Lot 53 that is located in the 2600 block of San Jacinto. The stand on the back wheel was locked in position and could not be released without the key. The moped had sustained damage that included two broken mirrors, a cracked floorboard, a ripped seat, a broken license plate mount and numerous scratches and cracks in the body's molding. Repair cost: $700.00.

100 West Inner Campus Drive

Occurred on 10-27-02 at 1:00 p.m.

Criminal Trespass: A non-UT subject was found placing advertising flyers on vehicles parked along the street. Subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning.
