Etter-Harbin Alumni Center, 2110 San Jacinto Blvd.

Occurred on 11-7-02 between 3:30 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.

Theft: A one liter bottle of Bacardi Rum and a one liter bottle of Seagrams Seven alcohol were stolen from a bar that had been set up in the southeast corner of the south ballroom lounge. The bottles already had pour spouts attached. An exterior door on the southeast side of the building, next to the bar, was found pushed open. Loss value: $60.00.

Gregory Gymnasium, 2101 Speedway

Occurred on 11-7-02 between 4:00 p.m. and 4:45 p.m.

Theft: A black Jansport backpack was placed in a day locker in the first floor men's locker room. A black combination lock was used to secure the locker. When the owner returned to the locker, his combination lock was missing and another subject who had a different combination lock on the locker was using the locker. The backpack contained a matte gold Verizon cellular telephone, a grey three-ring notebook, a chemistry textbook and a black bi-fold leather wallet. The wallet contained 12 student draw tickets to the UT vs. Baylor football game, $60.00 cash, assorted keys, assorted identification and credit cards. Loss value: $400.00.

Perry-Castañeda Library, 101 East 21st Street

Occurred on 11-7-02 between 6:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

Theft: A black Slagenzer backpack was stolen from a study area on the east side of the sixth floor. The backpack contained a library book and textbook. At 9:30 pm the UT guard at the Perry-Castañeda Library returned from a break to the first floor guard station and found the stolen backpack on the guard's desk. Recovered Value: $100.00.

Recreational Sports Center, 2001 San Jacinto Blvd.

Occurred on 11-7-02 between 10:50 a.m. and 11:20 a.m.

Theft: A black North Face backpack was stolen from an unsecured locker in the first floor weight room. The backpack contained a $1,200.00 black face stainless steel Tag Haller watch that had three dials, a Nokia cellular telephone, $20.00 cash, a Norton Anthology textbook, silver Arnett sunglasses, prescription reading glasses, and a pair of blue jeans. Loss value: $1,515.00.

West Mall

Occurred on 11-7-02 at 1:55 p.m.

Solicitation / Criminal Trespass: A non-UT subject was found selling cats. Subject was given a verbal criminal trespass warning.

W.R. Woolrich Laboratories, 210 East 24th Street

Occurred on 11-7-02 between 9:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.

Theft: A red Ozone bicycle was stolen from bicycle rack on the southwest side of the building while it was secured with a cable lock. The bicycle still had an Academy price tag on the frame. Loss value: $100.00.

2600 Guadalupe

Occurred on 11-7-02 at 11:45 p.m.

Public Intoxication / Assist an Outside Agency: A UT student was observed by a UT Police officer exiting the 7-11 convenience store and getting into the driver's side of a vehicle that was parked in front of the store. Subject was under the influence of an alcoholic beverage to the point that she was an endangerment to herself. Subject was not allowed to drive off in the vehicle. Subject was turned over to the Austin Police Department.

2200 Speedway

Occurred on 11-7-02 at 11:00 a.m.

Evading / Failure to Heed A Lawful Order / Failure to Identify: A UT Police officer observed a UT staff member riding a bicycle through the pedestrian mall. Subject refused to stop for the officer. When stopped, subject refused to move to the curb, away from vehicular traffic flow. Subject refused to identify himself because he felt he was being stopped for "a ridiculous violation."
