McCombs School of Business, 2110 Speedway

Occurred between 11-10-02 at 6:30 p.m. and 11-11-02 at 9:30 a.m.

Theft: A Dell Latitude laptop computer along with two corporate finance textbooks and an analysis textbook were stolen from a fifth floor "J" locker that had been secured with a combination lock. The combination lock was also stolen. Loss value: $2,250.00.

Vertebrate Paleontology, J.J. Pickle Research Campus, Building 6, 10100 Burnet Road

Occurred on 11-8-02 at 3:30 p.m.

Suspicious Person: An unknown subject was found wandering around in the basement area. When confronted, the subject stated that he was looking for the "surplus building." Subject was escorted out of the building and was last seen driving away in a light colored, two door, older model 250 SL Mercedes. Subject was described as a white male, blond hair, 5'8", 165 lbs and was approximately 20 years of age. Subject was last seen wearing a light colored button down shirt and tan slacks.

Jesse H. Jones Communication Center, Building A, 2504-A Whitis Avenue

Occurred between 11-10-02 at 3:00 p.m. and 11-11-02 at 2:00 p.m.

Theft: A stuffed orange UT longhorn was stolen from a secured office on the fourth floor. Other items in the room that were of greater value were not taken. The longhorn was purchased from JC Penneys. It was 12" high with a brown cowboy hat. It danced and played the "Eyes of Texas" when the hoof was squeezed. Loss value: $40.00.

Beauford H. Jester Center West, 201 East 21st

Occurred between 11-10-02 at 12 noon and 11-12-02 at 12 noon.

Theft: A blue MGXDXR bicycle was stolen from a bicycle rack in the courtyard while it was secured with a cable lock. Loss value: $100.00.

O. Henry Hall, 601 Colorado

Occurred on 11-12-02 at 4:30 a.m.

Criminal Trespass: A non-UT subject was found sleeping on the east side of the building. Subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning.

Parking Garage #3, 200 East Martin Luther King Blvd.

Occurred on 11-11-02 at 9:06 p.m.

Theft of Services: A white 1989 Honda was video recorded illegally exiting the garage. It was later determined that the vehicle was being operated by a UT student. Loss value: $32.00.

Parking Lot 104, 1900 North IH-35

Occurred between 11-10-02 at 9:00 p.m. and 11-11-02 at 1:00 p.m.

Burglary of Motor Vehicle: The right rear vent window was broken out of a 1993 Jeep and a Pioneer CD player was stolen from the dashboard along with a 15" 450 watt Logic MTX speaker box. Repair cost: $200.00. Loss value: $300.00.

J. T. Patterson Laboratories Building, 2415 Speedway

Occurred on 11-4-02 between 4:15 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.

Theft: A Toshiba laptop computer was stolen from a first floor office. The door to the office was left open and the office was unoccupied. Loss value: $900.00.

Peter T. Flawn Academic Center, #2 West Mall

Discovered on 11-11-02 at 5:20 p.m.

Graffiti: A red felt marker was used to write a hate crime remark on an elevator control panel. Removal cost: $30.00.

Prather Hall Dormitory, 305 East 21st Street

Occurred between 11-8-02 and 11-11-02 at 4:04 p.m.

Criminal Mischief: A name along with a remark was carved into the top of a coffee table that was located in the ground floor lobby. Repair cost: $200.00.

Robert A. Welch Hall, 105 East 24th Street

Discovered on 11-11-02 at 8:30 a.m.

Graffiti: A red felt marker was used to write hate crime remarks and racist symbols on several walls in a second floor men's restroom. Removal cost: $100.00.

Union Building, #4 West Mall

Occurred on 11-11-02 at 9:05 a.m.

Criminal Trespass: Two non-UT subjects were found sleeping in the third floor Loggia. Both subjects were issued written criminal trespass warnings.
