J. T. Patterson Laboratories Building, 2415 Speedway
Occurred on 11-12-02 at approximately 2:10 p.m.
Recovered Stolen Property: A non-UT subject was found going through several unattended backpacks on the third floor. Following his arrest for theft, an expensive Panasonic digital camcorder was found stuffed down his pants. Subject refused to state where he got the camcorder. The camcorder could have been stolen from on or off campus. UT Police are seeking information regarding who the owner might be.
Andrews Dormitory, 2401 Whitis Avenue
Occurred between 10-15-02 at 12:01 a.m. and 10-31-02 at 10:00 a.m.
Theft: A navy blue Cannondale bicycle was stolen from a south side bicycle rack while it was secured with a chain and Master combination lock. The bicycle had a Frankenstein monster "Head Shok" decal on each front fork. Loss value: $200.
Carothers Dormitory, 2501 Whitis Avenue
Occurred on 11-13-02 at 12:54 a.m.
Criminal Mischief: A sprinkler head on the building's fire suppression system was broken off when a UT student used a baseball bat on it after being dared by other students that he wouldn't do it. The sprinkler head was located in a first floor south hallway. The damaged sprinkler head caused flooding to the first floor and basement. The resulting water flow caused water damage in common areas, residential rooms, storage areas and computer laboratories. Repair cost: $10,000.
Beauford H. Jester Center East, 203 East 21st Street
Last incident occurred on 11-12-02 at 2:10 p.m.
Harassing Communication: A male subject has made repeated telephone calls where he has made lewd remarks toward the residents in a seventh floor dormitory room.
Beauford H. Jester Center West, 201 East 21st Street
Occurred on 11-12-02 at 5:25 p.m.
Evading / Possession of a Controlled Substance / Possession of Narcotic Paraphernalia: The smell of marijuana was reported to be coming from an eight floor dormitory room. As UT Police arrived, two UT students and an unknown subject were seen exiting the room. When the three subjects were stopped and asked for identification, the unknown subject swung a backpack at the officer and ran from the area. One of the UT students was found in possession of a 3" glass pipe with narcotic residue on it and a plastic baggie containing marijuana. A search warrant was executed on the dormitory room resulting the confiscation of over one and a half pounds of marijuana along with assorted narcotic paraphernalia.

Occurred on 11-12-02 at 9:14 p.m.
Criminal Trespass / Failure to Identify: A non-UT subject was found in a third floor men's locker room that is reserved for faculty, staff, and Recreational Sports members. The subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning. As officers started to leave the area, a second non-UT subject was seen entering the area. Subject saw officers and attempted to leave the area. Subject gave the officers two false names. Subject was found to have already been issued a prior written criminal trespass warning.
Parking Lot 67, 1900 Speedway
Occurred between 11-11-02 and 11-13-02.
Theft: On 11-11-02 at 7:33 am a vehicle immobilizer (tire boot) was placed on a green Saturn for unpaid service charges. On 11-13-02 at 2:00 am, the vehicle and the "tire boot" were gone. On 11-13-02 at 4:35 am the Saturn was found parked in Parking Garage #3, 200 East Martin Luther King Blvd. A tire was found in the back seat minus the "tire boot." Loss value: $350.00.
Parking Lot 104, 1900 North IH-35
Discovered on 11-12-02 at 10:58 p.m.
Burglary of Motor Vehicle: The left rear window was broken out of a white 1996 Jeep. The dashboard radio/CD player was found pried from the dash and hanging by its wires. A Kenwood 300Wx2 amplifier was stolen from the rear cargo area wall. Two UT students discovered the burglary when they were walking by and saw the vehicle's dome light on. Repair cost: $300. Loss value: $100.
Performing Arts Center, 510 East 23rd Street
Occurred on 11-12-02 at 11:00 p.m.
Public Intoxication / Consumption of Alcohol by Minor: A UT student under the age of 21 was found asleep on the south side of the building. When subject was woken up, it was determined that subject had a hard time standing and maintaining her balance because she was under the influence of an alcoholic beverage to the point she was an endangerment to herself.
Union Building, #4 West Mall
Occurred on 11-12-02 at 12:46 p.m.
Criminal Trespass: A non-UT subject was found in a room on the fourth floor that is reserved for students, staff and faculty. Subject initially stated that he was a UT student. Subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning.
