Experimental Science Building, 100 East 24th Street

Occurred on 11-15-02 between 2:00 p.m. and 2:45 p.m.

Graffiti: A red felt marker was used to write a hate related remark in cursive writing on a wall in elevator #3. This is the second incident in elevator #3 in the last week. A similar inscription had been previously written in blue ink. A similar hate related remark, written with a red felt marker was also found on a wall in a ground floor men's restroom in Peter T. Flawn Academic Center. Removal cost: $50.00.

Garrison Hall, #3 East Mall

Occurred on 11-17-02 at 4:35 p.m.

Criminal Trespass: A non-UT subject was found loitering on the first floor in an area that is reserved for students, staff and faculty. Subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning.

Kinsolving Dormitory, 2605 Whitis Avenue

Occurred on 11-17-02 at 1:00 a.m.

Public Intoxication / Consumption of Alcohol By Minor: A UT student under the age of 21 was transported in a privately owned vehicle from a local bar back to the dormitory. When the student tried to get out of the car on the west side of the dormitory, she lost her balance, fell down and struck her head against the curb. Subject was treated at the scene by EMS for a head injury. Subject was found to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage to the point she was a physical endangerment to herself.

Music and Bates Recital Hall, 2405 Trinity

Occurred on 11-15-02 between 8:45 a.m. and 5:15 p.m.

Theft: A silver men's 21 speed GT Timberline bicycle was stolen while it was secured with a cable combination lock to a bicycle rack on the west side of the building. The bicycle had a yellow gel seat, front shocks and a seat post shock. Loss value: $250.00.

Parking Garage #2, 2420 San Antonio

Occurred on 11-15-02 between 9:45 a.m. and 4:40 p.m.

Burglary of Motor Vehicle: The left rear vent window was broken out of a dark brown 1995 Cadillac that was parked at the top of the ramp to level 3. A Sanyo radio/CD player was stolen from the dashboard. Repair cost: $500.00. Loss value: $125.00.

Parking Garage #2, 2420 San Antonio

Occurred between 11-15-02 at approximately 3:00 p.m. and 11-16-02 at 6:40 a.m.

Burglary of Motor Vehicle: The driver's side window was broken out of a red 1995 Honda while it was parked in the southwest corner of level 2. A Pioneer radio/CD player was stolen from the dashboard. Two Logic CD cases containing approximately 80 CDs were taken from inside the vehicle. Repair cost: $1,000.00. Loss value: $450.00.

Parking Lot 67, 1900 Speedway

Occurred on 11-17-02 between 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 p.m.

Criminal Mischief: The locks were punched out of a built in toolbox that was located in the bed of a white 1995 Ford Ranger pickup truck that was parked in the central portion of the Parking Lot. Nothing was taken from the toolbox. Repair cost: $75.00.

Peter T. Flawn Academic Center, #2 West Mall

Occurred between 11-12-02 at 8:00 p.m. and 11-15-02 at 10:30 p.m.

Graffiti: A red felt marker was used to write a hate related remark on a wall in a ground floor men's restroom. A similar hate related remark, written with a red felt marker was also found on a wall in an elevator in the Experimental Science Building. Removal cost: $50.00.

Physical Plant #7, 1300 Manor Road

Discovered on 11-15-02 at 10:50 p.m.

Criminal Mischief: A sharp instrument was used to cut off the air valve that is attached to the air pump that is located north of the gas pumps. Repair cost: $50.00.

Student Health Center (Old), 107 West Dean Keeton

Occurred on 1-18-02 at 4:28 a.m.

Criminal Trespass: A non-UT subject was found sleeping on a bench that was located on the north side of the building. Subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning.

Union Building, #4 West Mall

Occurred between 11-15-02 at 11:30 p.m. and 11-16-02 at 1:40 a.m.

Graffiti: White paint was used to write two symbols on a wall in a second floor men's restroom. Removal cost: $50.00.

Union Building, #4 West Mall

Occurred between 11-16-02 at 6:00 a.m. and 11-17-02 at 6:10 a.m.

Graffiti: A black felt marker was used to write gang-style symbols on a wall in the south lobby men's restroom. Removal cost: $50.00.

Union Building, #4 West Mall

Occurred on 11-16-02 at 8:28 p.m.

Criminal Trespass / Failure to Identify / Assist An Outside Agency: A non-UT subject was found on the third floor in an area that is reserved for faculty, staff and students. Subject refused to identify himself and attempted to leave the area. Subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning. Subject was found to have an outstanding outside agency arrest warrant for failure to appear regarding a public intoxication arrest.

200 East Jester Circle

Occurred on 11-15-02 at 10:00 p.m.

Assault With Bodily Injury / Consumption of Alcohol By Minor / Public Intoxication: A UT student under the age of 21, was found in the middle of the street repeatedly striking a non-UT subject under the age of 21, with her purse and hands. Subjects had been dating each other and the assault occurred when the fidelity of one of the subjects came into question. Both subjects were found under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. The UT student was found under the influence of alcohol to the point she was a physical endangerment to herself.
