Hill Hall Dormitory, 216 East 21st Street

Discovered on 11-12-02 at 12:00 noon.

Criminal Mischief: The fourth floor north end hallway window was found broken out. Evidence indicated that someone on the inside of the building broke the window. Loss value: $300.00.

Beauford H. Jester Center East, 203 East 21st Street

Occurred on 11-18-02 between 8:00 a.m. and 2:10 p.m.

Burglary: A Sony laptop computer with charger was stolen when it was left in a first floor dormitory room. The door to the room had been closed but not locked because a roommate was still in the room sleeping. The laptop computer had a gray and silver top and a blue bottom. Loss value: $1,500.00.

Beauford H. Jester Center East, 203 East 21st Street

Occurred on 11-18-02 between 5:45 p.m. and 7:50 p.m.

Theft: A gray and black 24-speed Specialized bicycle was stolen from a bicycle rack that is located north of the main entrance. The bicycle was secured with a cable key lock. Loss value: $400.00.

Beauford H. Jester Center West, 201 East 21st Street

Occurred between 11-13-02 at 6:00 p.m. and 11-15-02 at 1:45 p.m.

Theft: A blue and gray Giant bicycle was stolen from a bicycle rack that is located on the east side of the courtyard. The bicycle was secured with a cable key lock. Loss value: $200.00.

Parking Garage #3, 200 East Martin Luther King Blvd.

Occurred on 11-18-02 at 10:40 a.m.

Leaving the Scene Collision: A tan 1992 Chevrolet pickup truck was hit in the left rear quarter panel by the right front corner of a beige 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe. The Tahoe left the scene without giving notice after the collision. The pickup truck had been parked on level five.

Perry-Castañeda Library, 101 East 21st Street

Occurred between 11-17-02 at 11:30 p.m. and 11-18-02 at 10:48 p.m.

Graffiti: Red ink was used to write a hate crime statement on a wall in a second floor men's restroom. Removal cost: $20.00.

San Jacinto Residence Hall, 309 East 21st Street

Occurred between 11-13-02 at 4:30 p.m. and 11-14-02 at 12 noon.

Criminal Mischief: A word was carved into the right wooden arm of a loveseat located in the south end of the first floor loggia. Repair cost: $100.00.

San Jacinto Residence Hall, 309 East 21st Street

Occurred between 11-15-02 at 4:30 p.m. and 11-18-02 at 8:30 a.m.

Theft: Three signs were stolen from a first floor south tower stairwell. The signs were pried off the wall and stairwell exit doors. The signs stated "Fire Door," "Emergency Exit Only," and "Exit Door Alarmed, Do Not use For Routine Exiting of Building." Replacement cost: $150.00.

San Jacinto Residence Hall, 309 East 21st Street

Occurred between 11-15-02 at 4:30 p.m. and 11-18-02 at 8:30 a.m.

Criminal Mischief: Four indentations were found in the sheetrock next to a second floor south tower custodial closet. Repair cost: $200.00.

T. U. Taylor Hall, #8 East Mall

Occurred on 11-15-02 between 7:30 p.m. and 7:50 p.m.

Theft: A black Gap book bag was stolen from a basement computer laboratory. The owner left the book bag next to a computer workstation for 20 minutes while he left the area to make a telephone call. The book bag contained an "Elements of Networking" textbook, a "Design Patterns" textbook, a pair of orange-framed sunglasses, a passport and three blank bank checks. Loss value: $300.00.

Union Building, #4 West Mall

Occurred on 11-17-02 between 2:30 a.m. and 9:00 a.m.

Theft: A napkin dispenser was stolen from the second floor dining area just south of the Wendy's service counter. Two other napkin dispensers have been stolen in the last few months. One napkin dispenser costs $75.00.
