Occurred on 12-2-02 at 3:30 p.m.
Assault with Bodily Injury: A UT student was assaulted by her spouse who is a non-UT subject. Assault occurred in a fourth floor room. Assailant shoved the victim and struck her with his fists several times on her arms causing bruising. Assault occurred on 12-2-02 at 3:30 pm. On 12-2-02 at 6:55 pm assailant was arrested at the Union Building on a UT police arrest warrant for assault.
McCombs School of Business, 2110 Speedway
Occurred between 11-27-02 at 12:00 noon and 12-2-02 at 8:00 a.m.
Theft: Five textbooks were stolen from a second floor locker that had been secured with a Master combination lock, which was also stolen. Books were described as a "Cost Management Strategies For Business" textbook by Ronald Hilton, an "Intermediate Accounting" textbook by J. David Spiceland, a "Financial Accounting Standards Board - Volume I, II and III", an "Applied Calculus" textbook by Raymond Barnet and a "Business Communication" textbook by Guffy. Loss value: $250.00.
Engineering Teaching Center, 204 East Dean Keeton
Occurred on 12-2-02 between 4:45 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
Theft: A red with black trim 21-speed Mongoose bicycle was stolen from a bicycle rack on the south side of the building while it was secured with a cable lock. Loss value: $200.00.
Gregory Gymnasium, 2101 Speedway
Occurred on 12-2-02 between 12:30 p.m. and 2:00 p.m.
Theft: A brown leather bi-fold Tommy Hill wallet was stolen from an unsecured locker that was located in a second floor men's locker room. The wallet contained $12.00 cash along with assorted credit cards and identification cards. Loss value: $42.00.
Hill Hall Dormitory, 216 East 21st Street
Occurred between 11-21-02 at 4:00 p.m. and 12-2-02 at 7:00 p.m.
Theft: A purple 21-speed Trek bicycle was stolen from a bicycle rack that is located on the north side of the building while it was secured with a cable lock. Loss value: $150.00.
L. Theo Bellmont Hall, 2109 San Jacinto Blvd.
Occurred on 12-2-02 between 8:20 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.
Graffiti: A red felt marker was used to draw a symbol on the inside door of elevator #4. Removal cost: $50.00.
Parking Garage #7, 1815 Trinity
Occurred on 12-2-02 between 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.
Theft: While working as a gate cashier, a UT employee received money from people driving into the garage but failed to turn it in at the end of the shift. Loss value: $399.00.
Parking Lot 80, 1900 Red River
Occurred on 11-29-02 at 11:00 a.m.
Theft: A blue and grey Sprint cellular telephone was stolen during a "tailgate party." An unknown subject asked the owner if he could use his cellular telephone. The owner said yes and told the subject to leave the telephone on a nearby table when he was finished. The owner then left to buy some tickets. When he returned the telephone and the subject were gone. Subject was described as a white male, 20 years of age, 6', and 180 pounds with short brown hair. Subject was last seen wearing a UT sweatshirt (no color given) and blue jeans. Loss value: $60.00.
Union Building, #4 West Mall
Occurred on 12-2-02 between 9:00 a.m. and 11:45 a.m.
Theft: A yellow and black Jansport backpack was stolen from the third floor Lone Star Room. The owner lay down to take a nap and placed the backpack at the head of the sofa she was on. When she woke up the backpack was gone. The backpack contained a black leather wallet, 70 cents in change, a Spanish textbook, a communications textbook, assorted facial makeup and three black zipper pouches. Loss value: $150.00.
Union Building, #4 West Mall
Discovered on 12-3-02 at 12:32 a.m.
Graffiti: A black felt marker was used to write a web address on a wall in a first floor men's restroom. Removal cost: $50.00.
2100 Guadalupe to 2600 Guadalupe
Discovered on 12-2-02 at 3:05 p.m.
Criminal Episode / Criminal Mischief: A black felt marker was used to write a gang-style moniker on thirteen glass light pole globes that are located along the east side of the street. Removal cost: $300.00.
2300 San Jacinto Blvd.
Discovered on 12-3-02 at 2:22 a.m.
Criminal Mischief: A concrete bench located on the south side of the Art Building and Museum was damaged when it was knocked over. Repair cost: $100.00.
2500 Speedway
Occurred on 12-2-02 between 5:45 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
Criminal Mischief: The right rear taillight was broken on a 1999 Ford pickup truck. It appeared that an object had slid down the right side of the truck bed and then struck the right rear taillight. Repair cost: $85.00.
1800 Red River
Occurred on 12-2-02 at 7:20 p.m.
Consumption of Alcohol By Minor: Two non-UT subjects were observed walking out of Waller Creek. One subject, under the age of 21 was found to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage.
