Experimental Science Building, 100 East 24th Street

Occurred between 12-5-02 at 5:00 p.m. and 12-6-02 at 8:15 p.m.

Graffiti: A felt marker was used to draw symbols and letters on a wall in elevator #3. Removal cost: $25.00.

Frank C. Erwin Special Events Center, 1701 Red River

Discovered on 12-6-02 at 3:05 p.m.

Graffiti: A black felt marker was used to write a name on the marquee that is located on the east side of the building. Removal cost: $100.00.

Occurred on 12-7-02 between 9:00 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

Theft: During a graduation ceremony, a black leather purse containing keys and a Bank of America check card was stolen from an arena concourse restroom. The purse was stolen on 12-7-02 between 9:00 am and 1:30 pm. Due to the victim having Alzheimer's, the purse was not missed until the victim arrived in Houston at 5:00 pm. When the victim called to cancel her check card, it was determined that the card had been used several times since it had been stolen. It is unknown at this time when and where the card was used and what amounts were charged on the card.

Beauford H. Jester Center West, 201 East 21st Street

Occurred on 12-7-02 between 6:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

Theft: A wallet was stolen from a 6th floor laundry room on 12-7-02 between 6:00 pm and 7:30 pm. During the time period of the theft, a UT student, who was a resident, was seen in the laundry room near where the wallet was last seen. At 10:05 pm UT police went to the resident's dormitory room that was located on the sixth floor. The resident and three other UT students were found in the room playing poker for money, which is a violation of Housing and Food regulations. The victim's wallet was found in the room and the resident admitted to spending some of the victim's money but admitted to losing most of it in the poker game. The three other UT students admitted they knew the resident had taken the victim's wallet "but intended to leave the decision of what to do with the wallet up to the resident." Loss value: $35.00.

Beauford H. Jester Center West, 201 East 21st Street

Occurred on 12-7-02 at 6:05 a.m.

Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor / Public Intoxication: A UT student under the age of twenty-one was found passed out in a first floor hallway due to alcohol poisoning. EMS responded to the scene because the subject was unresponsive. EMS was able to revive the subject only after applying a sternum rub and waving an ammonia packet under the subject's nose.

Beauford H. Jester Center West, 201 East 21st Street

Occurred on 12-9-02 at 12:20 a.m.

Possession Controlled Substance / Possession Narcotic Paraphernalia: After responding to a report of the smell of marijuana, an officer found two UT students inside a tenth floor dormitory room in possession of marijuana and assorted smoking devices that contained marijuana residue.

Occurred between 12-5-02 and 12-6-02 at 2:30 p.m.

Graffiti: A red felt marker was used to draw a symbol on the wall of elevator number #3 and elevator #4. Removal cost: $50.00.

Occurred on 12-6-02 at 8:00 p.m.

Failure to Identify / Criminal Trespass: A non-UT subject was found in a third floor men's locker room that is reserved for faculty, staff and Recreational Sports members. Subject initially gave a false name and date of birth. Subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning.

Lavaca Building, 220 West 7th Street

Discovered on 12-9-02 at 4:15 a.m.

Criminal Mischief: An exterior window was broken in a first floor office. A large amount of blood droplets were found outside the window that lead east on 7th street for a short distance. Repair cost: $300.00.

Parking Garage #1, 2401 San Jacinto Blvd.

Occurred on 12-8-02 at 4:50 p.m.

Criminal Mischief: A witness observed the passenger of a blue pickup truck get out of the vehicle at the west exit and force the exit control arm up allowing the truck to exit. The passenger was described as a white male, 20 years of age, 5'6", 180 pounds, with brown hair. Repair cost: $25.00.

Parking Lot 67, 1900 Speedway

Occurred on 12-6-02 between 9:15 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

Burglary of Motor Vehicle: The left front window was broken out of a 1996 green Toyota. A Sony XPLOD AM/FM/CD player was stolen from the dashboard. Repair cost: $300.00. Loss value: $200.00.

Prather Hall Dormitory, 305 East 21st Street

Occurred between 12-5-02 at 4:30 p.m. and 12-6-02 at 7:45 a.m.

Criminal Mischief: An ironing board that had been attached to a wall in a basement room was broken off the wall. Footprints found on top of the ironing board indicate that someone had possibly stood on the ironing board while it was attached to the wall resulting in it breaking off the wall. Repair cost: $60.00.

Recreational Sports Center, 2001 San Jacinto Blvd.

Occurred on 12-6-02 between 11:00 a.m. and 12:20 p.m.

Theft: A blue Jansport backpack was stolen from an unsecured locker that was located in the first floor weight room. The backpack contained a grey jacket, blue sweater, keys, and a black tri-fold wallet. The wallet contained assorted credit cards and identification cards. Loss value: $60.00.

South Mall

Occurred on 12-6-02 at approximately 11:00 p.m.

Assault by Contact: A non-UT female subject was walking south on the South Mall when she heard a male voice shouting at her as if he was trying to get her attention. An unknown male subject approached her, telling her to come here and wait for him. The subject grabbed her by her left arm but not in a violent manner. The victim jerked her arm away and ran from the area. The subject did not follow. Subject was described as a white male, 40 years of age, 6' and 180 pounds (medium build). Subject was last seen wearing a black shirt, blue jeans and was wearing gloves.

Union Building, #4 West Mall

Occurred on 12-6-02 between 12-6-02 at 9:00 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.

Graffiti: A pen containing blue ink was used to write a phrase on a wall in a third floor men's restroom. Removal cost: $25.00.

Walter Webb Hall, 2500 Guadalupe

Occurred on 12-7-02 at 2:53 a.m.

Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor: A UT student under the age of twenty-one was found urinating on the south side of the building. Subject was found to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage.

2200 Speedway

Occurred on 12-7-02 between 4:00 a.m. and 4:45 a.m.

Theft: A five-foot long orange and white plastic barricade was stolen from the south entrance to the Speedway pedestrian mall. Loss value: $50.00.
