Art Building and Museum, 2301 San Jacinto Blvd.

Discovered on 1-2-03 at 2:56 a.m.

Graffiti: A blue felt marker was used to write a word on the west side of a support column in stairwell #1. Removal cost: $75.00.

Garrison Hall, #3 East Mall

Occurred between 12-20-02 at 11:30 a.m. and 12-28-02 at 9:00 a.m.

Theft: Fifteen medieval history books were stolen from a secured second floor office. Loss value: $300.00.

Jesse H. Jones Communication Center, Building A, 2504A Whitis Avenue

Discovered on 12-28-02 at 8:30 a.m.

Burglary of Coin-Operated Machine: Five of the eight vending machines in the north covered parking garage were broken into and an undetermined amount of money was stolen. Four of the vending machines had been unplugged. Two of the vending machines had been turned around so that they were facing the south wall. One of the vending machine's coin boxes was found in an orange recycling bin that was located in the corner of the parking garage. Repair cost: $800.00.

Jesse H. Jones Communication Center, Building A, 2504A Whitis Avenue

Occurred on 1-2-03 at 10:30 p.m.

Criminal Trespass: A non-UT subject was found asleep in the hallway in front of a fourth floor office. The subject entered the building through an unsecured exterior third floor door. Subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning.

Beauford H. Jester Center, 2003 Speedway

Discovered on 1-2-03 at 12:15 a.m.

Criminal Mischief: The locking cylinder core was forcibly removed from a lock that was on a door to a secured second floor classroom. The classroom's security alarm system indicated entry was not gained into the classroom. Repair cost: $75.00.

Lake Austin Center, 3001 Lake Austin Blvd.

Discovered on 12-20-02 at 1:03 a.m.

Graffiti: A black felt marker was used to write a word on a bicycle rack that is located on the east side of the building. Removal cost: $25.00.

O. Henry Hall, 601 Colorado

Occurred between 12-26-02 at 11:00 p.m. and 12-27-02 at 8:19 a.m.

Graffiti: Red spray paint was used to write a word on the exterior steps on the southeast side of the building. Removal cost: $100.00.

Parking Lot 27, 2600 Whitis Avenue

Occurred on 12-28-02 at 8:47 p.m.

Assist an Outside Agency: UT police identified a non-UT subject inside a vehicle just after he forced open the vehicle's door. Subject stated that he had lost his keys. Even though he was not the registered owner, documents inside the vehicle suggested he had permission to use it. Subject was found to have an outstanding outside agency arrest warrant for failure to appear in court regarding a traffic violation.

Parking Lot 108, 1500 Red River

Occurred between 12-27-02 at 4:00 p.m. and 12-18-02 at 7:00 a.m.

Burglary: A bright yellow Dewalt dual tank air compressor and an orange Stihl MS390 chain saw were stolen from a secured portable storage building located inside a construction job site. Loss value: $950.00.

Robert A. Welch Hall, 105 East 24th Street

Occurred on 12-28-02 at 3:00 a.m.

Burglary of Coin-Operated Machine: An unknown subject was seen standing by the vending machines that are located in the breezeway on the east side of the building. The subject was last seen running from the area when he observed a UT police vehicle approaching. A Pepsi and an Aquafina vending machine had been broken into and an unknown amount of money had been stolen. Subject was described as a Hispanic male, 20 years of age, 5'6" to 5'7" with a "slight" build. Subject was last seen wearing "dark clothing." Repair cost: $200.00.

Robert A. Welch Hall, 105 East 24th Street

Discovered on 12-29-02 at 11:44 p.m.

Graffiti: A blue felt marker was used to write a one-foot by 20-foot phrase on the east exterior wall. Removal cost: $150.00.

Russell A. Steindam Hall, #7 East Mall

Occurred on 12-29-02 at 5:21 p.m.

Possession of a Controlled Substance / Possession of Narcotic Paraphernalia: Three non-UT juvenile subjects were found in the basement of the northeast stairwell. One subject was found in possession of a glass smoking pipe contain marijuana residue and a plastic baggie containing marijuana.

2300 San Jacinto Blvd.

Occurred on 1-1-03 at 5:00 p.m.

Assist an Outside Agency: A non-UT subject was found asleep on a bus stop bench. A blue racing bicycle with clips on the pedals that required special shoes was found leaning against the bench. A calculator was found in his left rear pocket. A knife and cigarette lighter was found in his right front pocket. A rolled up white t-shirt was found under his shirt. Subject stated that all of the items found on his person and the bicycle were not his. He stated that he had been drinking and could not remember how he came into possession of these items. Subject was found to have an outstanding outside agency arrest warrant for revocation of parole regarding a burglary of habitation conviction.

Union Building, #4 West Mall

Discovered on 12-31-02 at 5:15 p.m.

Graffiti: Blue and black felt markers along with a liquid paper pen were used to write sexually explicit remarks on a second floor men's restroom wall. Removal cost: $50.00.

Walter Webb Hall, 2500 Guadalupe

Occurred between 12-26-02 at 7:00 p.m. and 12-17-02 at 4:50 p.m.

Graffiti: White spray paint was used to draw a large mural with some type of unknown message in the center. Removal cost: $400.00.
