Discovered on 01-11-03.
Burglary of Coin-Operated Machine: An Aquafina vending machine that was located in the covered garage parking area was forcibly broken into and the dollar bill box was stolen. The coin box was removed from the machine and it was found behind the machine. The coin box was empty. Repair cost: $400.00. Loss value: Unknown at this time.
Lavaca Building, 220 West 7th Street
Occurred between 1-11-03 at 9:00 p.m. and 1-12-03 at 4:35 p.m.
Graffiti: A silver colored felt marker was used to write a phrase on an electrical power box that was located on the north side of the building. Removal cost: $30.00.
Mary E. Gearing Hall, 200 West 24th Street
Occurred between 12-18-02 and 1-10-03 at 1:00 p.m.
Theft: A Dell Latitude C610 Pentium III computer with a 14-inch display and a 3.5-inch CD ROM floppy drive was stolen from a first floor classroom. The computer was being stored in a roll-around cart that had a plastic roll-up locking door, which was not locked. Loss value: $3,500.00.
Parking Garage 3, 200 East Martin Luther King Blvd.
Occurred on 11-11-03 between 3:15 p.m. and 5:10 p.m.
Leaving the Scene Collision: A 6-inch dent along with several scratches were made in the left front door of a 1994 Honda Civic that was parked on the westside southbound lane of level one. Repair cost: $400.00.
Parking Garage 4, 109 West 27th Street
Occurred on 1-12-03 between 8:00 p.m. and 8:15 p.m.
Burglary of Motor Vehicle: The left front window was broken out of a blue 1992 Toyota that was parked on the southwest corner of level 4. An Optimus 50 watt amplifier and a roadside assistance tool box was stolen from the vehicle: Repair cost: $150.00. Loss value: $70.00.
Parking Lot 11, 200 East 22nd Street
Occurred on 1-10-03 between 8:10 a.m. and 9:45 a.m.
Criminal Mischief: A 4-inch dent was made above the left rear wheel well of a light green 1999 Mercury. Blue and white paint from the striking object was transferred onto the vehicle. Repair cost: $200.00.
Parking Lot 104, 1900 North IH-35
Occurred between 1-11-03 at 10:30 p.m. and 1-12-03 at 12 noon.
Criminal Mischief: The right front window was broken on a 1995 Mazda MX6 while it was parked on the southwest portion of the Parking Lot. Nothing was stolen from the vehicle. Repair cost: $150.00.
Parking Lot 109, 2200 Leona, Parking Lot 113, 2200 Comal Street
Occurred on 01-12-03 between 2:10 p.m. and 2:55 p.m.
Criminal Episode - Burglary of Motor Vehicle: Two unknown subjects were seen running southbound from the area just before five vehicles were found broken into. Subject #1 was described as a Hispanic male, 17 to 18 years of age, medium build, 5'7", wearing a black knit cap and a blue jean jacket. Subject #2 was described as a Hispanic male, 17 to 18 years of age, medium build, 5'9", wearing a black knit cap and a green jacket. The left front window was broken on a black 1995 Chevrolet Blazer that was parked in Lot 109 and a CD case with five CDs was stolen. The right front window was broken on a gold 1998 Nissan Maxima that was parked in Lot 109 and a CD case with 67 CD's was stolen. The right front window was broken on a white 1992 Oldsmobile Cutlass that was parked in Lot 109 and a CD case with 50 CDs was stolen. The dashboard on the Oldsmobile was damaged when someone attempted to forcibly remove the radio/CD player. The left front window was broken on a blue 1992 Ford Mustang that was parked in Lot 113 and a CD case with 7 CDs was stolen. A 12-inch Rockford Fosgate subwoofer was stolen from a wooden box in the Ford's trunk. The right front window was broken on a blue 1988 Toyota Camry that was parked in Lot 113 but nothing was stolen from the vehicle. Total repair costs: $1,000.00. Loss value: $900.00.
Peter T. Flawn Academic Center, #2 West Mall
Occurred 1-9-03 at 5:00 p.m. and 1-10-03 at 8:35 a.m.
Criminal Episode - Theft: Two Panasonic RV32 DVD players were stolen from two separate rooms on the third floor. At the end of the workday a staff member locked both rooms. A second staff member rechecked the rooms prior to leaving work. Both rooms were found unlocked the next morning. Loss value: $360.00.
Robert Lee Moore Hall, 2515 Speedway
Occurred on 1-10-03 at 5:00 p.m.
Burglary of Coin-Operated Machine: A Coca-Cola vending machine was damaged when someone attempted to break into it. A white 1993 Dodge pickup truck with dual tires was seen parked by the building just prior to officers finding the damaged coin-operated machine. The vehicle is registered to a male subject who has a prior history of burglarizing coin-operated machines.
San Jacinto Residence Hall, 309 East 21st Street
Occurred on 1-12-03 between 1:30 p.m. and 9:00 p.m.
Criminal Mischief: Three 12-inch diameter holes were kicked in two walls in a ground floor south tower game room. Repair cost: $300.00.
George I. Sánchez Building, 1912 Speedway
Occurred on 1-9-03 at 10:35 a.m.
Criminal Trespass: A non-UT subject was found wandering around the northwest hallway and stairwell. Subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning.
Union Building, #4 West Mall
Occurred on 1-10-03 between 2:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.
Theft: The hand set was stolen from the courtesy telephone that is located on the second floor near 2.210. Loss value: $25.00.
