Applied Computational Engineering and Sciences Building (ACES), 201 East 24th Street

Discovered on 1-19-03 at 7:45 p.m.

Criminal Mischief: A raw egg was thrown against the main entrance door on the west side of the building. Clean-up cost: $10.00.

Colorado Apartments, 2501 Lake Austin Blvd.

Occurred on 1-18-02 at 3:00 a.m.

Child Endangerment: A Yellow Cab driver found a six-year-old child wandering near the 2500 block of Lake Austin on 1-18-02 at 3:00 am. The child was wearing a t-shirt, shorts and tennis shoes. The temperature was in the twenties. It was determined that the child lived in the apartment complex and had been outside for approximately 30 minutes. The child had been left alone at 11:00 pm by a single parent so she could attend a party in north Austin. The child was turned over to Child Protective Services and the parent was taken into custody at 3:45 a.m.

East Mall

Occurred between 1-20-03 at 11:00 a.m. and 1-21-03 at 8:46 a.m.

Criminal Mischief: Two raw eggs were thrown against the Martin Luther King statue. Clean-up cost: $10.00.

Graduate School of Business, 100 West 21st Street

Occurred 1-17-03 at 5:26 p.m.

Theft: Two non-UT subjects were stopped in the 2500 block of University Avenue. One subject was found trying to conceal a pair of boltcutters. The second subject was found in possession of a bicycle that had just been stolen from the north side of GSB. Recovery value: $150.00.

Harry Ransom Center, 300 West 21st Street

Occurred on 1-21-02 at 12:30 a.m.

Criminal Trespass: A non-UT subject was found inside the construction site on the northeast side of the building. Subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning.

Beauford H. Jester Center East, 203 East 21st Street

Occurred on 1-17-03 between 10:30 p.m. and 11:25 p.m.

Criminal Mischief: The glass on a bulletin board case was broken. The bulletin board was located in a third floor elevator lobby. During this time period name-tags had been torn from several dormitory doors in an adjacent hallway. Repair cost: $50.00.

Beauford H. Jester Center West, 201 East 21st Street

Occurred between 1-7-03 at 9:15 p.m. and 1-19-03 at 8:00 p.m.

Theft: A blue Specialized bicycle, minus the seat, was stolen from a bicycle rack that was located in the courtyard while it was secured with a chain and lock. Loss value: $300.00.

Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center, 1900 Red River

Occurred between 1-15-03 at 5:00 p.m. and 1-16-03 at 5:45 a.m.

Theft: Two Spanish textbooks titled "Punto Y Aparte" were stolen from a backpack that was left in an unsecured men's varsity locker room. Loss value: $90.00.

Littlefield Dormitory, 201 West Dean Keeton

Occurred on 1-19-03 at 3:15 a.m.

Consumption of Alcohol By A Minor: A UT student was found in a second floor dormitory room under the influence of an alcoholic beverage to the point she had to be treated by EMS for alcohol poisoning.

Parking Garage #1, 2401 San Jacinto Blvd.

Occurred between 1-14-03 at 12 noon and 1-17-03 at 10:30 a.m.

Burglary of Motor Vehicle: The left front window was broken out of a white 2001 Toyota. A Rockwood AM/FM/CD player along with six CDs were stolen from the vehicle. Repair cost: $150.00. Loss value: 200.00.

Parking Lot 50, 2600 Whitis Avenue

Occurred on 1-18-03 at 3:10 a.m.

Consumption of Alcohol By A Minor - 3 Counts: Three UT students, under the age of 21 were seen standing in the middle of the Parking Lot. One of the subjects could not keep his balance and fell against another subject. All three subjects were found to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage.

Parking Lot 109, 2200 Leona Street

Occurred between 1-17-03 at 10:30 a.m. and 1-17-03 at 12:15 p.m.

Criminal Mischief: The left front window was broken out of a red 1992 Toyota that was parked along the north curbline. Repair cost: $150.00.

Peter T. Flawn Academic Center, #2 West Mall

Occurred on 1-8-03 between 4:55 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.

Theft: A silver Motorola cellular telephone was stolen from a first floor table when it was left unattended for approximately five minutes. Loss value: $60.00.

Union Building, #4 West Mall

Occurred on 1-17-03 at 9:45 p.m.

Criminal Mischief: Four unknown white male subjects (no other description) exited the south entrance and began kicking the Lucky Dog sign that is outside the main entrance doors. Repair cost: $10.00.

Union Building, #4 West Mall

Occurred on 1-18-03 at 5:30 p.m.

Criminal Trespass: A non-UT subject was found asleep in an area on the third floor that is reserved for students, staff and faculty. Subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning.

University Teaching Center, 105 West 21st Street

Occurred on 1-17-03 at 8:10 a.m.

Criminal Trespass / Evading: A non-UT subject was identified by a UT police officer on the fourth floor in an area that is reserved for students, staff and faculty. It was determined that subject had received a prior criminal trespass warning. When the subject heard the radio traffic confirming a prior criminal trespass warning, he ran from the officer.

100 West 21st Street

Occurred on 1-17-03 at 11:45 p.m.

Theft: A UT student was seen carrying an orange traffic cone belonging to the University of Texas Police as he walked west along the south curbline. Recovery value: $10.00.

2700 San Jacinto

Occurred on 1-19-03 at 2:47 p.m.

Driving While Intoxicated: A non-UT subject was observed driving a motor vehicle southbound in the 2700 block of San Jacinto. Subject stopped the vehicle at Dean Keeton and San Jacinto in the northbound lane. Subject drove eastbound to Dean Keeton and Medical Arts Square where he stopped for a green light. Subject was found to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. Subject failed several field sobriety tests and was found to be driving while intoxicated.
