Development Office Building, 2901 North IH-35

Occurred on 1-21-03 at approximately 5:25 p.m.

Burglary: On 1-21-03 at approximately 5:25 pm an unknown subject rang the doorbell that was on an interior door that led to a suite of offices on the first floor that was closed to the public. The subject was pushing a custodial cart that had a gray cloth bag with custodial supplies hanging from all four sides of the cart. The cart had squeaky wheels. The subject was admitted and began moving through the offices and hallway. It was later determined the subject was not a University custodian. About an hour later at approximately 6:30 pm several items were found to have been stolen from several offices within the suite and the unknown subject was gone. A Dell CPX Latitude laptop computer, a Dell C610 Latitude laptop computer, a Dell 1702 FP 17-inch flat screen monitor, $100.00 in cash and a $50 retail gift certificate to Cornestone was stolen. Subject was described as a Hispanic male, 25 to 35 years of age, approximately 5'8", stocky build, short dark hair cut over his forehead like a "Ceasar cut" but a little longer, large lips and a round face. Subject was last seen wearing a black and gray plaid shirt that might have had pink in it, blue jeans and tennis shoes. Subject was wearing strong smelling cologne along the line of Cool Water. Loss value: $5,100.00.

Frank C. Erwin Special Events Center, 1701 Red River

Occurred on 1-21-03 between 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.

Theft: A pair of lowtop Classic Reebock tennis shoes that were mostly white with black and red trim were stolen from an unsecured first floor men's locker room. An unknown subject was seen leaving the locker room carrying a pair of tennis shoes that closely matched the pair that was stolen during the time the theft could have occurred. The subject had entered the building through the back door by telling the building monitor that he was an ex-UT basketball player. Subject was described as a black male, 18 to 20 years of age, 5'10", 160 pounds, with short curly black hair and a medium build. Subject had a diamond earring in each ear. Subject was last seen wearing a red football jersey and black sweat pants. Loss value: $50.00.

Littlefield Fountain, 300 West 21st Street

Discovered on 1-21-03 at 8:44 a.m.

Graffiti: Purple chalk was used to write a political statement on the west side limestone banister. Removal cost: $10.00.

Parking Lot 38, 2300 Red River

Occurred on 1-19-03 between 8:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m.

Theft: An "A" permit was stolen from a possibly unsecured charcoal grey Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck. Loss value: $10.00.

Main Building, #1 South Mall

Occurred between 12-19-02 at 4:00 p.m. and 1-21-03 at 9:05 a.m.

Theft: Two white plastic Dell ACS90 Altec Lansing multimedia computer speakers were stolen from a secured 14th floor office. Loss value: $50.00.

Union Building, #4 West Mall

Occurred on 1-21-03 between 1:30 p.m. and 2:40 p.m.

Graffiti: A black felt marker was used to write politically oriented words and pictures on a wall in a men's restroom that was located on the southwest side of the second floor. Removal cost: $10.00.
