Occurred on 1-19-03 between 6:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m.
Theft: A red 20-pound Craftsman air compressor was stolen from an unsecured storage area on the first floor. Loss value: $150.00.
Geology Building, #10 East Mall
Discovered on 1-22-03 at 4:40 p.m.
Criminal Mischief: A raw egg had been thrown and broken against a south exterior wall. Evidence indicated it had occurred 24 to 48 hours earlier. Clean-up cost: $30.00.
Beauford H. Jester Center West, 201 East 21st Street
Occurred on 1-22-03 at 4:45 p.m.
Possession of a Controlled Substance / Possession of Drug Paraphernalia: Responding to a report of the smell of marijuana, UT police found a UT student in a second floor dormitory room in possession of a marijuana cigarette and a pair of tweezers that had marijuana residue on them.
500 East 23rd Street
Occurred on 1-21-03 at 8:05 p.m.
Leaving the Scene Collision: UT police observed a UT employee inside a motor vehicle that was parked parallel along the north curbline. Subject proceeded to drive away and in the process collided his rear bumper with the front bumper of the vehicle that was parked behind him resulting in damage to vehicle #2's front bumper. Subject was stopped as he tried to drive away from the area without giving notice. Subject admitted to striking the vehicle but "didn't think it was a big deal." Subject was told to leave a note on the vehicle he had just struck. Subject was then observed returning to the scene and placing a note on the vehicle that was parked in front of him rather than the one that had been parked behind him. Repair cost: $200.00.
