Collections Deposit Library, 1810 Red River Street

Occurred on 1-26-03 at 10:49 a.m.

Criminal Trespass: A non-UT subject was found sleeping in the southwest stairwell of the building. The subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning.

Engineering-Science Building, 2501 Speedway

Occurred between 1-23-03 at 10:30 p.m. and 1-24-03 at 8:10 a.m.

Theft: $200.00 in cash was taken from a moneybox that was secured in a locked first floor office between 1-23-03 at 10:30 pm. and 1-24-03 at 8:10 am. An unknown subject was caught on videotape entering the office during the time of the theft. Staff members working in the area were shown the videotape of the subject. A staff member recognized the subject entering the building through the west doors on 1-27-03 at 5:37 am. The subject refused to identify himself, reentered the first floor office and then left approximately two minutes later. Subject was described as a white male in his early 20's, 6', medium build and "clean cut" with short hair. Subject was last seen wearing a black leather jacket and khaki pants.

Engineering Teaching Center, 204 East Dean Keeton

Occurred on 1-24-03 between 1:00 p.m. and 4:25 p.m.

Theft: A brown 10-inch x 6-inch purse was stolen from under a desk located in an unsecured fifth floor service center. The purse was found in a fifth floor men's restroom. A black plastic checkbook-style wallet containing $11.00 cash, $2.50 in Australian currency, a Macy's credit card and miscellaneous identifications was stolen from the purse.

Occurred on 1-24-03 between 6:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.

Assault by Threat: A staff member threatened another staff member by stating, "he was going to beat him up."

Beauford H. Jester Center East, 203 East 21st Street

Occurred on 1-24-03 at 4:46 a.m.

Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor: A UT student, under the age of twenty-one, was found in a 10th floor dormitory room under the influence of an alcoholic beverage to the point he had to be treated by EMS for alcohol poisoning.

Occurred 1-25-03 at 1:40 a.m.

Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor: A UT student, under the age of twenty-one, was found unconscious in the 1st floor south lounge and was transported to the hospital by EMS due to alcohol poisoning.

Occurred on 1-25-03 at 8:32 a.m.

Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor / Failure to Identify / Criminal Trespass: A non-UT subject under the age of twenty-one was found asleep in a tenth floor study lounge. When he woke up, it was determined that he was under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. Subject gave four fictitious names. Subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning.

Occurred between 1-18-03 at 8:00 p.m. and 1-25-03 at 4:30 p.m.

Theft: A blue and silver Next bicycle was stolen from a bicycle rack that was located on the west side of the dormitory while it was secured with a combination lock. Loss Value: $100.00.

Beauford H. Jester Center West, 201 East 21st Street

Occurred 1-26-03 at 2:45 a.m.

Fighting in a Public Place (2 counts) / Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor (2 counts) / Public Intoxication (2 counts) / Assault on a Public Servant: Two UT students under the age of twenty-one were found fighting in a first floor hallway. Subjects were under the influence of an alcoholic beverage to the point they were a physical endangerment to themselves. While being restrained by UT police one of the subjects kicked a UT police officer in the head several times.

Kinsolving Dormitory, 2605 Whitis Avenue

Occurred 1-26-03 at 2:42 a.m.

Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor: A non-UT subject and a UT student, who were under the age of twenty-one, attempted to enter the dormitory after hours even though the UT student was not a resident. Subjects were found under the influence of an alcoholic beverage.

Peter T. Flawn Academic Center, #2 West Mall

Occurred between 1-23-03 at 9:45 p.m. and 1-24-03 at 11:15 a.m.

Theft: A Panasonic DVD player, model# RV32 was stolen from a secured third floor viewing room. Loss amount $182.00.

Russell A. Steindam Hall, #7 East Mall

Discovered on 1-24-03 at 1:37 p.m.

Criminal Mischief: Pamphlets were glued to the anchor and howitzer that is located on the west side of the building. Removal cost: $40.00.

George I. Sánchez Building, 1912 Speedway

Occurred on 1-25-03 between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.

Theft: A red Tommy Hilfiger purse was stolen from a backpack while the backpack was left in an unsecured first floor classroom. At the time of the theft, members of a bible study group occupied the classroom. Purse contained assorted identification and credit cards. Loss value: $20.00.

Townes Hall, 727 East Dean Keeton

Occurred on 1-24-03 between 6:15 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

Graffiti: Green aerosol spray paint was used to write a word on a loading dock door and two recycling bins. Removal cost: $100.00.

Occurred on 1-24-03 at 4:12 p.m.

Theft: A staff member left a third floor office unattended and unsecured for approximately fifteen seconds. When she was coming back to the office she observed an unknown subject exiting the office. When she asked him what he was doing, he began to run. The subject was seen dropping the staff member's wallet as he ran. Subject was described as a white male, late 30's or early 40's, 6', slim build and short thick black hair with acne scars on his face. Subject was last seen wearing a dark colored shirt, jeans and carrying a canary yellow flannel shirt. (Office thieves are known to carry several articles of clothing so they can change their appearance.) Occurred on 1-24-03 at 4:12 pm. On 1-24-02 at 4:00 pm a subject matching this description was seen in a second floor office in the SERVICE Building. Subject was seen standing by a secretary's desk while she was not in. When questioned, subject left the area. Subject had a thick black mustache and scars on his face. Subject was last seen wearing a UCLA jacket, light colored shirt and a white baseball cap. Subject was seen driving away in a red mid-sized pickup truck that was parked in the Parking Lot by Simkins Hall Dormitory. Vehicle had darkly tinted windows with a white longhorn logo on the rear window. On 1-23-03 at approximately 2:20 pm a subject matching this description was seen loitering in an unoccupied second floor office in Welch Hall. When confronted the subject immediately left the area.

Occurred on 1-27-03 at 5:39 a.m.

Criminal Trespass: A non-UT subject was found sleeping by a doorway in the parking garage. The subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning.
