Beauford H. Jester Center West, 201 East 21st Street
Occurred on 1-28-03 at 10:15 p.m.
Possession of Narcotic Paraphernalia: While responding to a report of the smell of marijuana coming from a 12th floor dormitory room, UT police found a UT student in possession of a multi-colored 3-inch smoking pipe that had marijuana residue on it.
Kinsolving Dormitory, 2605 Whitis Avenue
Occurred between 1-28-03 at 11:55 p.m. and 1-29-03 at 12:05 a.m.
Harassing Communication: A non-UT subject made two threatening telephone calls to a resident who lives on the first floor. Subject is described as a white male with a baldhead who is approximately 26 years of age. Subject has tattoos on each side of his neck that appears to be Chinese symbols. Subject has a tattoo on the inside of his right wrist of a bloodshot eye.
Nursing School, 1710 Red River
Occurred on 1-29-03 at 1:40 a.m.
Assist an Outside Agency: A non-UT subject was stopped for riding a bicycle on the sidewalk on the west side of the building. Subject was found to have an outstanding outside agency arrest warrant for failure to appear on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.
Parking Lot 80, 1900 Red River
Occurred between 1-27-03 at 8:00 a.m. and 1-28-03 at 5:54 p.m.
Criminal Mischief: A red 1995 Ford's left side mirror was broken while the vehicle was parked in the southeast side of the Parking Lot. Prior to parking in the Parking Lot the driver had been driving south on Robert Dedman Drive. A blue 1989 Oldsmobile tried to turn in front of the Ford. The driver of the Oldsmobile followed the complainant into the Parking Lot and stopped behind the Ford after it parked. The Oldsmobile left the area when the driver of the Ford did not exit their vehicle. The driver of the Oldsmobile was described as a Hispanic male (no other description.) Repair cost: $200.00.
Parking Lot 104, 1900 IH-35
Occurred on 1-29-03 at 5:00 a.m.
Burglary of Motor Vehicle: A non-UT subject was seen exiting a vehicle with a soft top that was parked in the west portion of the Parking Lot. The vehicle's right plastic window had been cut allowing access to the interior. The subject was found in possession of a box cutter. The vehicle's owner stated that two baseball caps and two pairs of sunglasses had been stolen from the vehicle. The subject was found in possession of these four items.
Robert A. Welch Hall, 105 East 24th Street
Occurred on 1-24-03 at approximately 10:30 a.m.
Theft: On Friday January 24 at approximately 10:30 am a staff member left a fourth floor office after locking the door. At approximately 11:00 am she returned to the office to find the door open. At approximately 6:45 pm she received a call from a credit card company stating the credit card that was issued to her was used in an attempted $500.00 purchase that was denied by the credit card company. There had been four other purchases that date totaling $100.00 that were not made by the staff member. At this time the staff member checked her purse and found that the credit card and $3.00 in cash had been stolen.
Discovered on 1-28-03 at 9:20 a.m.
Graffiti: A black felt marker was used to write 1-inch letters, numbers and symbols on a limestone bench and handrail. Removal cost: $200.00.
Discovered on 1-28-03 at 9:15 a.m.
Graffiti: A carbon based writing tool was used to write 4-inch tall words on a limestone railing on the east side of the west railing that leads down to Inner Campus Drive. Removal cost $25.00.
