2200 Guadalupe

Occurred on 2-12-03 at 12:30 p.m.

Suspicious Activity: A UT student was approached by an unknown subject outside of the University Co-op. The subject was carrying a black backpack containing several books. The subject offered the student $10.00 if he would sell the books back to the University Co-op for him. The student took the backpack and books into the University Co-op and contacted the manager. When the manager went outside, the subject could not be located. Subject was described as a black male, approximately 30 years of age, 6-feet tall, 150 pounds with black hair. The subject had some facial hair and appeared transient in appearance based on his general appearance and hygiene. The books in the backpack were titled "Computer Networks and Internets/Third Edition", "Atlas of Human Anatomy/Third Edition", "Professional Cooking/Fifth Edition", "Control System Design" and "Mathematics Applied to Electronics."

Beauford H. Jester Center West, 201 East 21st Street

Occurred on 2-13-03 at 12:10 a.m.

Harassing Communication: An unknown male subject called a 13th floor dormitory room and asked vulgar questions and made obscene remarks. The resident was reminded to use the "Star 57" feature on her dormitory telephone, which would trace the call.

Beauford H. Jester Center West, 201 East 21st Street

Occurred on 2-13-03 at 12:15 a.m.

Harassing Communication: An unknown young male subject called another 13th floor dormitory room and asked vulgar questions. The resident was reminded to use the "Star 57" feature on her dormitory telephone, which would trace the call.

Nursing School, 1710 Red River

Discovered on 2-12-03 at 4:30 p.m.

Burglary of Coin Operated Machine: A feminine products machine in a fourth floor women's restroom was broken into. Loss value: $20.00.

Perry-Castañeda Library, 101 East 21st Street

Discovered on 2-13-03 at 1:50 a.m.

Graffiti: White paint was used to write a phrase on the ATM machine that is located on the east side of the building: Removal cost: $100.00.

Recreational Sports Center, 2001 San Jacinto Blvd.

Occurred on 2-12-03 at 7:18 p.m.

Criminal Trespass: A non-UT subject was found playing basketball on a second floor court. Subject had been banned from coming onto university property unless he had received prior written permission from the administration. Subject was found in possession of a UT student identification card that belonged to another student.

Sid Richardson Hall, 2300 Red River

Occurred on 2-12-03 at 8:37 p.m.

Criminal Trespass: A non-UT subject was found sleeping under the stairs on a couch near the lower level Bass Lecture Hall entrance. Subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning.

2500 Speedway

Occurred between 7:00 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. on 2-11-03.

Forgery: A counterfeit $10.00 bill was passed at a taco stand that was located on the northwest corner. The counterfeit bill was passed during "the morning rush."

Whitaker Fields, 5101 Guadalupe

Occurred on 2-12-03 at 2:00 p.m.

Burglary of Motor Vehicle: A UT staff member observed a white 1997 Ford pickup truck drive up to a red 1991 Volvo that was parked in the Parking Lot on the west side of the field. The truck was occupied by four or five Hispanic males. Two of the Hispanic males jumped out of the truck, smash the left and right windows on the Volvo and then entered the vehicle. When the staff member yelled at them, both subjects jumped back into the truck and the truck left the area at a high rate of speed. The staff member was able to obtain a vehicle license number. It was later determined that a Kenwood CD/AM-FM player and $80.00 cash had been stolen from the vehicle. Repair cost: $300.00. Loss value: $180.00.
