Carothers Dormitory, 2501 Whitis Avenue

Occurred on 3-4-03 between 7:45 p.m. and 7:55 p.m.

Theft: A black Texas Instruments calculator model TI-83 was stolen from a first floor hallway between Carothers Dormitory and Andrews Dormitory when it was left unsecured during a fire alarm. The calculator had damage to the bottom right corner of the screen. Loss value $10.00.

Colorado Building, 702 Colorado

Occurred between 3-4-03 at 3:49 a.m. and 3-5-03 at 2:00 a.m.

Graffiti: A black paint pen was used to write a word on the east exterior wall of the building north of the east doors. Removal cost: $50.00.

Frank C. Erwin Special Events Center, 1701 Red River

Occurred on 3-2-03.

Assault: A non-UT subject grabbed a UT student with both hands and shook her by the shoulders in section 34 during a concert.

Disorderly Conduct: A non-UT subject was using profane language and spilling his beverage on patrons in section 34 during a concert.

Possession of Controlled Substance: A non-UT subject was found in possession of a marijuana cigarette in an arena level suite during a concert.

Occurred on 3-2-03.

Possession of Controlled Substance: A non-UT subject was found in possession of a marijuana cigarette while in the mezzanine level during a concert.

Frank C. Erwin Special Events Center, 1701 Red River

Occurred on 3-2-03.

Possession of Controlled Substance: A non-UT subject was found in possession of a container of marijuana while the subject was being disruptive in the general admission section during a concert.

Garrison Hall, #3 East Mall

Occurred on 3-4-03 at 5:20 p.m.

Failure to Identify / Criminal Trespass: A non-UT subject was found in a 1st floor restroom that is reserved for faculty, staff and students. The subject gave the officer a name and date of birth. A check showed there was an outstanding outside agency arrest warrant for a subject with the name and date of birth given. The subject was taken into custody for the warrant. It was then determined the subject had given his brother's name and date of birth to conceal the fact that he had previously received a written criminal trespass warning.

Gregory Gymnasium, 2101 Speedway

Occurred on 3-4-03 between 10:20 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.

Theft: $140.00 cash was stolen from a backpack that was left unsecured in the bleachers of the basketball courts. The owner observed a subject place a jacket over his backpack, move the backpack to a different location on the "bench" and open the backpack. The owner checked his backpack and discovered his money had been stolen. The subject is described as a black male, 6'2" tall, wearing a light blue long-sleeve polo shirt and glasses. Loss value: $140.00.

Perry-Castañeda Library, 101 East 21st Street

Occurred on 3-5-03 at 2:30a.m.

Theft: A UT student set off the security system at the exit doors of the Undergraduate Library at the Flawn Academic Center. The student was in possession of two Perry-Casaneda library books that had not been checked out. Recovery value: $50.00.

200 East Jester Circle

Occurred between 3-4-03 at 5:11 p.m. and 3-5-03 at 1:44 a.m.

Criminal Mischief: A UT Parking and Transportation vehicle immobilizer (tire boot) was placed on a motor vehicle for unpaid service charges on 3-4-03 at 5:11 pm. A sticker was placed on the vehicle's window warning the driver to not move the vehicle. On 3-5-03 at 1:44 am the immobilizer was still on the vehicle but had been bent and scratched. The warning sticker had also been removed. Repair cost: $100.00.
