Art Building and Museum, 2301 San Jacinto Blvd.

Occurred between 3-27-03 at 6:00 p.m. and 3-30-03 at 11:00 a.m.

Criminal Mischief: A 4-foot pattern was cut into a 5-foot by 7-foot charcoal drawing while it was hanging on a wall in a 4th floor hallway by stairwell #4. Loss value: $50.00.

Claudia Taylor Johnson Hall, 210 West 6th Street

Discovered on 3-31-03 at 5:00 p.m.

Graffiti: Silver metallic paint was used to write a word on a trash dumpster located in an alley on the north side of the building. Removal cost: $50.00.

Engineering-Science Building, 2501 Speedway

Occurred on 3-31-03 between 11:50 a.m. and 12:15 p.m.

Theft: A black nylon IBM laptop computer bag containing a silver Dell Smartstep 250N laptop computer, power cables, an ethernet cable, a local area network card and a pair of headphones was stolen from an unsecured 6th floor study room. Loss value: $1,615.00.

Beauford H. Jester Center East, 203 East 21st Street

Occurred on 3-31-03 at 1:50 p.m.

Criminal Mischief: A third floor dormitory room window was broken. The resident of the dormitory room heard an object hit the window prior to discovering the 8-inch crack in the window. Repair cost: $50.00.

Occurred on 3-31-03 at 1:56 p.m.

Criminal Trespass: A UT student was found in the first floor lobby after being banned by the Dean of Students from entering any residential hall area. The student was issued a written criminal trespass warning.

Beauford H. Jester Center West, 201 East 21st Street

Occurred on 3-31-03 between 12 noon and 12:05 p.m.

Theft: A Texas driver's license, a credit card and a bank ATM card were stolen from a wallet that was left in a backpack on a table in the cafeteria. The owner of the property had removed a UT identification card from her wallet and placed the wallet back in her backpack. The student left her backpack on the table to get lunch. A subject was sitting at the next table but did not have any food. The subject left as soon as the student returned. The subject is described as a Hispanic male, in his 20's, 5'10" tall, 150 lbs., wearing a dark colored polo-style shirt and carrying a dark green backpack. Replacement value: $10.00.
