500 Colorado

Occurred on 4-21-03 at 2:40 a.m.

Driving While Intoxicated: A 1973 Volkswagen van turned northbound onto Colorado from 6th Street. Colorado is a one-way southbound street. The van swerved across three traffic lanes and came within two-feet of striking a marked UT police car that was parked along the west curbline. The van proceeded northbound at a high rate of speed continually swerving across multiple traffic lanes. The driver, a non-UT subject, was found to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage to the point he was driving while intoxicated.

Parking Lot 37, 2200 Red River

Occurred on 4-19-03 between 7:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.

Burglary of Motor Vehicle: A pair of blue Salomon roller-blades were stolen from a blue Dodge pickup truck that was parked in the center portion of the Parking Lot. The steer wheel column had been broken and the ignition switch had been damaged. There was no sign of forcible entry into the car. Loss value: $225.00. Repair cost: $500.00.

Parking Lot 40, 2400 Red River

Occurred on 4-19-03 between 7:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.

Burglary of Motor Vehicle: The right rear window was broken out of a 2001 BMW. An owner's manual for the vehicle and BMW dealership cards were stolen. Loss value: $5.00. Repair cost: $400.00.

Peter T. Flawn Academic Center, #2 West Mall

Occurred on 4-21-03 at 1:55 a.m.

Disorderly Conduct (Abusive Language) / Criminal Trespass: A subject, who was later identified as a UT student, attempted to enter the library without any UT identification. The library was restricted to students, staff and faculty. When he was denied entry he began to use profane and vulgar language, in a very loud voice, toward the library guard and refused to leave. Subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning. As the subject was being escorted out of the library, he started using profane and vulgar language toward UT police.

2300 Robert Dedman Drive

Occurred on 4-20-03 at 3:15 p.m.

Criminal Trespass: UT police observed a non-UT subject, who had received a prior written criminal trespass warning, walking with a female UT student. The student stated that the subject had walked up to her and had asked her to go out with him and then continued to walk with her, which made her feel uncomfortable.

Union Building, #4 West Mall

Discovered on 4-18-03 at 9:00 a.m.

Criminal Mischief: A black felt marker was used to write several words on the left panel of the ATM machine that is located on the building's east patio. Removal cost: $40.00.

Occurred on 4-18-03 at 3:30 p.m.

Criminal Trespass: A non-UT subject was found asleep on the third floor in an area that is reserved for students, staff and faculty. Subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning.

Union Building, #4 West Mall

Occurred on 4-19-03 between 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.

Graffiti (Criminal Episode): A sharp instrument was used to etch the same words and letters on several doors, walls, wooden frames and fixtures that were located on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd floor. Repair cost: $800.00.

Union Building, #4 West Mall

Occurred on 4-19-03 between 9:30 p.m. and 10:00 p.m.

Graffiti: Black paint was used to write initials on fixtures and several walls in the basement's men's restroom. Removal cost: $60.00.

Union Building, #4 West Mall

Occurred on 4-20-03 between 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.

Graffiti: An orange felt marker was used to write some words on several fixtures in a second floor men's restroom that is located on the north side of the building. Removal cost: $30.00.

Walter Webb Hall, 2500 Guadalupe

Occurred on 4-20-03 at 6:35 p.m.

Criminal Trespass: A non-UT subject was found loitering on the south side of the building by the covered parking garage. Subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning.
