DRAMA CIRCLE

Discovered on 5-2-03 at 10:45 a.m.

Criminal Mischief: White chalk was used to write anti-war remarks on a wall on the northeast side of the East Mall fountain. Removal cost: $20.00.

Beauford H. Jester Center, 2003 Speedway

Occurred on 5-2-03 at 1:43 p.m.

Criminal Trespass: A non-UT subject was found panhandling in the Jester City Limits Cafeteria. Subject was issued a criminal trespass warning.

Beauford H. Jester Center East, 203 East 21st Street

Occurred on 5-3-03 at 12:05 a.m.

Public Intoxication / Consumption of Alcohol By Minor: Three UT students were identified carrying an unconscious UT student into the lobby. The UT student, under the age of twenty-one, was unconscious due to alcohol poisoning. Emergency medical services responded and transported the unconscious subject to the hospital.

Occurred on 5-3-03 at 3:35 a.m.

Arson: Three pieces of paper that were posted on a first floor dormitory room were set on fire, which resulted in the activation of the fire alarm system and the evacuation of the building. Repair cost: $300.00.

Consumption of Alcohol By Minor: A UT student under the age of twenty-one was found unconscious in a ninth floor women's restroom due to alcohol poisoning.

Beauford H. Jester Center West, 201 East 21st Street

Occurred between 4-28-03 at 10:30 p.m. and 5-4-03 at 12:30 p.m.

Harassing Communication: Several annoying and threatening telephone calls have been placed to a resident's cellular telephone and dormitory telephone that is located on the fourth floor. The caller is male. One telephone call was traced using the "Star 57" feature on the dormitory telephone.

Beauford H. Jester Center West, 201 East 21st Street

Occurred on 5-5-03 at 1:50 a.m.

Criminal Trespass: A non-UT subject was found on the first floor in an area that is reserved for students and which is accessible by card access only. Subject had been panhandling in the same area approximately two weeks ago and had been told by the staff to leave the area. Subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning.

Jester Circle

Occurred between 5-3-03 at 11:15 p.m. and 5-5-03 at 12:30 a.m.

Criminal Mischief: The owner of a 1995 Kia observed a white 1998 Nissan pickup truck trying to park in front of her car that was parked near Jester Center East Receiving. While attempting to park, the pickup truck's rear bumper touched the front bumper of the Kia. The pickup truck driver asked her to back her car up, which she refused to do. As the owner of the Kia was leaving the area the driver of the pickup stated, "If you are worried about your car, I advise you to move it." When the owner of the Kia returned to her vehicle she found that three or four stalks of celery had been rubbed on the hood and windshield and a white liquid paste had been dumped and dripped on the roof of her vehicle. Driver of pickup truck was described as a white male, thin build, college age, with brown wavy hair. Removal cost: $10.00.

Parking Lot 115, 1600 East 20th Street

Discovered on 5-5-03 at 1:05 a.m.

Graffiti: A black felt marker was used to write words on a yellow "Police Help" pole that was located on the east side of the Parking Lot. Removal cost: $50.00.

Perry-Castañeda Library, 101 East 21st Street

Occurred on 5-1-03 at 2:48 a.m.

Theft: A white and gray Janis Sport backpack was stolen from a first floor computer laboratory located on the northeast side of the building. Videotape of the area recorded an outside contracted maintenance worker picking up the backpack but not handing it over to library staff. The backpack contained a calculator, textbooks, notebooks and a wallet. The wallet contained $150.00 cash and assorted credit and identification cards. Loss value: $300.00.

2000 Robert Dedman Drive

Occurred on 5-4-03 at 10:00 p.m.

Criminal Trespass: A non-UT subject was found wandering along the street "yelling gibberish and acting scary" toward pedestrians that he passed. Subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning.

1900 San Jacinto Blvd.

Occurred between 5-2-03 at 7:00 p.m. and 5-3-03 at 8:45 a.m.

Criminal Mischief: A sharp instrument was used to scratch unreadable letters in the driver and passenger doors of a pink 1998 Acura that was parked along the north curbline. Repair cost: $1,500.00.

Occurred on 5-5-03 at 2:50 a.m.

Public Intoxication / Consumption of Alcohol By Minor: A non-UT subject under the age of twenty-one was found lying on the sidewalk. Subject was under the influence of an alcoholic beverage to the point he was an endangerment to himself. When asked if he needed medical assistance, subject replied, "No, I'm drunk." When asked for identification, he stated he didn't have any. A wallet could be seen in his pocket and he was asked why he said he didn't have any identification. Subject stated, "I told you I was drunk."

Union Building, #4 West Mall

Occurred on 5-2-03 between 11:00 a.m. and 11:45 a.m.

Theft: A red and black North Face backpack was stolen from the third floor loggia. The backpack was stolen when it was set next to a chair the owner went to sleep in. The backpack contained three notebooks, a professional communications textbook, UT identification, the owner's prescription glasses and a UT dorm room key.

Union Building, #4 West Mall

Occurred on 5-2-03 between 1:15 p.m. and 1:45 p.m.

Theft: A Motorola Radius two-way radio was stolen when it was left in the women's restroom near the Cactus Caf. A female between the ages of 18 to 22 could be heard talking on the stolen two-way radio. Subject stated things like "deliver the burrito and you will get the radio." Loss value: $400.00.

Union Building, #4 West Mall

Occurred between 5-3-03 at 11:00 p.m. and 5-4-03 at 12:40 a.m.

Graffiti: A black felt marker was used to write letters on a wall in a men's restroom located in the Underground. Removal cost: $25.00.

Union Building, #4 West Mall

The first incident occurred on 5-4-03 between 12 noon and 2:15 p.m., while the second incident occurred between 1:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.

Graffiti (Criminal Episode): A sharp instrument was used to carve a phrase into a wooden stairwell door that was located on level one of stairwell #1. Repair cost: $75.00. Similar words were carved into marble counter top inside a marble counter top located inside a south end men's room that is located on the second floor. A similar word was carved into a wooden stairwell door that was located on level two of the center stairwell. Repair cost: $200.00.
