27th Street at Guadalupe

Occurred on 5-7-03 at 4:50 p.m.

Theft: A UT police officer observed a male non-UT subject riding a bicycle at a high rate of speed toward his patrol car. The subject was traveling southbound in the 2500 block of San Antonio, which is a northbound one-way street. The subject was being chased by a male non-UT subject who was yelling, "he just stole my bike." The thief was apprehended in the 2200 block of Guadalupe. The thief had stolen the unsecured bicycle from the north entrance to the Jack in the Box restaurant located at 27th and Guadalupe while the owner was inside buying a drink.

Union Building, #4 West Mall

Occurred on 5-7-03 between 1:00 a.m. and 3:00 a.m.

Theft: A UT student was sitting in the third floor loggia when two unidentified large white males sat down next to him. The subjects were "transient in appearance and stunk." Shortly after the student collected his property and left the building, he discovered that the cord and power supply for his laptop had been stolen. Loss value: $60.00.

Union Building, #4 West Mall

Occurred on 5-7-03 between 3:00 p.m. and 3:25 p.m.

Graffiti: A sharp instrument was used to etch several letters into a second floor stairwell door located on the north end of the building. Repair cost: $100.00.
