2200 Block of Guadalupe

Occurred on 5-18-03 at 12:05 a.m.

Possession of Controlled Substance: A vehicle, occupied by 2 non-UT subjects, was stopped for a traffic violation. An odor of marijuana was detected coming from the vehicle. A cigar box containing two cigars that had been packed with marijuana was found in the glove box.

Nueces and 24th Street

Occurred on 5-19-03 at 3:20 a.m.

Driving While Intoxicated: UT police drove up on a vehicle operated by a UT student right after it had struck a light pole located on the northwest corner of the intersection. The driver attempted to drive away but was unable to because of the damage to the vehicle. The driver then attempted to walk away from the scene. The driver was found to be under the influence of alcohol to the point she was driving while intoxicated.

Parking Lot 102, 2200 Comal Street

Occurred on 5-17-03 between 2:09 p.m. and 3:20 p.m.

Cruelty to Animals: A dog was left inside a parked and unattended silver 1998 Ford Windstar for over an hour. All four windows were rolled up to within 3" of being closed. A thermometer was used to determine that the temperature inside the vehicle was 100 degrees. After attempting to contact the owner, the vehicle was entered and the dog was released to Austin Animal Control.

2000 Block of San Jacinto Blvd.

Occurred on 5-17-03 at 10:32 p.m.

Criminal Trespass: A non-UT subject approached a group of people and began to yell, "the Devil is in you lady" to the mother-in-law of the group. The subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning citation.

Townes Hall, 727 East Dean Keeton

Occurred between 5-16-03 at 6:30 p.m. and 5-18-03 at 5:00 p.m.

Burglary: Forced entry was used to gain access to the Subway restaurant through a 1st floor interior door. $600.00 dollars cash was stolen from the cash register drawer and $400.00 dollars cash was stolen from an unsecured restaurant office. Repair cost: $300.00. Loss value: $1,000.00.

Walter Webb Hall, 2500 Guadalupe

Occurred on 5-12-03 at 4:25 p.m.

Criminal Trespass: A non-UT subject was found panhandling on the east side of the building, in violation of UT Regent's Rules and Regulations concerning solicitation. The subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning citation.

Walter Webb Hall, 2500 Guadalupe

Discovered on 5-17-03 at 4:10 p.m.

Graffiti: White spray paint was used to write a gang-style word on the east exterior wall. Removal Cost: $100.00.

Whitaker Fields, 51st Street and Guadalupe

Occurred on 5-16-03 at 2:10 p.m.

Assist Outside Agency: A non-UT subject was found asleep in the grass on the north side of the tennis courts. The subject was under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. The subject had three outstanding outside agency arrest warrants for traffic violations.

200 Block East 21st Street

Occurred on 5-17-03 between 11:45 a.m. and 11:55 a.m.

Burglary of Motor Vehicle: An inflatable chair, a set of white wire shelving and a box containing a telephone and an answering machine were stolen out of an unsecured blue 1971 Cadillac El Dorado convertible while the owner went to his dormitory room to retrieve more property. Loss value: $50.00.
