Battle Hall, #1 West Mall

Occurred on 7-23-03 at 5:00 p.m.

Criminal Trespass: A non-UT subject was found in a first floor area that was reserved for students, faculty and staff. Subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning.

Brazos Garage, 210 East Martin Luther King Blvd.

Occurred between 7-19-03 at 9:00 p.m. and 7-22-03 at 12:38 p.m.

Theft: The rear license plate was stolen from a 1994 Honda while it was parked on the east side of level 4. After the theft the license plate was put on a vehicle that was used in an aggravated robbery that occurred off campus. Loss value: $5.00.

Claudia Taylor Johnson Hall, 210 West 6th Street

Occurred on 7-24-03 at 1:52 a.m.

Criminal Trespass: A non-UT subject was found sleeping on the east side steps. Subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning.

Development Office Building, 2901 North IH-35

Occurred on 7-25-03 between 11:05 a.m. and 11:20 a.m.

Theft: Three packets containing a questionnaire, participant's certification and $50.00 cash was stolen from a first floor research suite. The identity of the possible thief could not be released to police because of the research department's commitment to research confidentiality. Loss value: $150.00.

Frank C. Erwin Special Events Center, 1701 Red River

Occurred on 7-19-03.

Credit Card Abuse: Four concert tickets for an October event were illegally charged to a credit card that was issued to a non-UT subject who lives in Arizona. The offender, a non-UT subject, was traced to Duncan, Oklahoma. Loss value: $275.00.

Jesse H. Jones Communication Center, Building. B, 2504B Whitis Avenue

Occurred on 7-23-03 between 11:10 a.m. and 11:15 a.m.

Theft: A silver Nokia cellular telephone was stolen from a third floor office after it was left unattended for 5 minutes. An unidentified subject was seen loitering in the area at the time of the theft. Subject was described as a black male, 30 to 40 years of age, 6'3", thin build. Subject was last seen wearing a blue hat, white shirt and blue jeans. Loss value: $50.00.

L. Theo Bellmont Hall, 2109 San Jacinto Blvd.

Occurred on 7-24-03 at 8:00 p.m.

Criminal Trespass: A non-UT subject was found in a 3rd floor men's locker room that was reserved for faculty, staff and Recreation Sports guests. Subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning.

Parking Lot 114, 21st Street and Leona Street

Discovered on 7-28-03 at 12:35 a.m.

Graffiti: A green felt marker was used to write a name on the pole of a "Police Help" call box. Removal cost: $50.00.

Perry-Castañeda Library, 101 East 21st Street

Occurred on 7-24-03 between 2:40 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.

Theft: A UT female student was studying at a first floor table when an unidentified female, who was sitting at the same table, asked the student if she would watch her property while she went to the bathroom. When the unidentified subject returned the student asked the subject if she would watch her property while she ran to the car to get some items she needed to finish her homework. When the student returned the unidentified female subject had "packed up her books" and left the area. At that time the student found that $15.00 cash and a bottle of prescription medicine had been stolen from her backpack. The unidentified female suspect was described as a white female, approximately 20 years of age, 5'4", 130 to 145 pounds, with brown hair. Subject was last seen wearing tan shorts, a light blue or pink tube top and was carrying a black satchel.

Perry-Castañeda Library, 101 East 21st Street

Occurred on 7-27-03 between 5:50 p.m. and 5:55 p.m.

Theft: A backpack was stolen when it was left on a chair by a 6th floor study table for 5 minutes. The backpack was later found in a study cubicle on the 6th floor and $3.00 had been stolen from it.

Townes Hall, 727 East Dean Keeton

Occurred on 7-25-03 at 9:59 a.m.

Criminal Trespass: A non-UT subject was found on the first floor in an area that is reserved for students, faculty and staff. Subject was found talking to himself and was in the building because "a lady said she would get him some clothes." Subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning.

600 East 23rd Street

Occurred on 7-23-03 at 1:05 p.m.

Leaving The Scene Collision: A silver 2002 Subaru was parked and unattended on the north curbline when it was struck in the rear bumper by a silver Ford F150 pickup truck with a "space cab." A witness observed the truck run the stop sign, skid on the wet pavement and then collide into the Subaru and then leave the scene of the collision without leaving notice. The truck was being driven by an unidentified Hispanic male, 20 to 25 years of age. Repair cost: $500.00.
