Frank C. Erwin Special Events Center, 1701 Red River

Occurred on 8-3-03 between 12 midnight and 12:30 a.m.

Theft: A black double-breasted tuxedo jacket with a Nokia cellular telephone and a pair of reading glasses in the pocket was stolen when it was left on a dinning room chair. Loss value: $305.00.

San Jacinto Residence Hall, 309 East 21st Street

Occurred between 7-31-03 at 11:00 p.m. and 8-1-03 at 4:00 p.m.

Theft: A red and silver Roadmaster "Ground Assault" mountain bicycle was stolen while it was secured with a cable lock to a bicycle rack on the west side of the building. Loss value: $65.00.

Union Building, #4 West Mall

Occurred on 8-02-03 between 7:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

Graffiti: A black indelible marker was used to write a word on the 1st floor elevator #2 exterior door. Removal cost: $50.00.

Wooldridge Hall, 600 West 24th Street

Occurred on 8-3-03 at 4:00 a.m.

Criminal Trespass / Assist Outside Agency: A non-UT subject was found sleeping on the fire escape on the south side of the building. The subject had previously received a written criminal trespass warning. The subject had two outstanding outside agency arrest warrants for theft.

Whitis Ave. and 26th Street

Occurred on 8-3-03 at 11:30 p.m.

Aggravated Robbery: An unidentified subject approached a UT staff member in Parking Lot 27, 2600 Whitis, and asked for a ride to 6th street. He then asked if the staff member had a cellular telephone. The staff member denied both requests and directed the subject to the telephones at Kinsolving Dormitory, 2605 Whitis, then began walking in the opposite direction. The subject walked beside the staff member to Dean Keeton and Whitis Avenue where he placed a handgun against the staff member's ribs and demanded the staff member's wallet. The staff member gave the subject $20.00 cash. The subject was last seen walking westbound on Dean Keeton. The subject is described as a white male, in his late 20's, 6' tall, 180 pounds, mustache and orange or blonde facial hair, wearing a black t-shirt with light colored lettering on the front, and blue jeans. Loss value: $20.00.

300 Block of East 24th Street

Occurred on 8-3-03 at 5:12 p.m.

Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon: A non-UT subject was stopped for a traffic violation. The subject was sweating profusely and shaking. The subject was seen chewing on an item that was later identified as a hypodermic syringe after the subject threw the item off of the Waller Creek bridge. The subject attempted to spit and kick at officers. The subject later began to chew on the bridge's metal handrails. Austin EMS transported the subject to the hospital for an unknown drug reaction. An illegal 1'2" long wooden club was found on the vehicle's floorboard by the driver's seat.
