Criminal Mischief: The lock and door were damaged on a coin-operated product vending machine located in a 3rd floor women's restroom. Repair cost: $50.00.

Criminal Trespass: A non-UT subject was found sleeping on the west side of the building. The subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning.

Jesse H. Jones Communication Center, Building B, 2504-B Whitis Avenue

Occurred on 8-13-03 at 12:15 p.m.

Criminal Trespass / Failure to Identify: A non-UT subject was found sleeping on the west side of the building. The subject gave several false names and dates of birth. Besides other police action taken, the subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning.

O. Henry Hall, 601 Colorado

Occurred on 8-13-03 at 11:35 p.m.

Criminal Trespass: A non-UT subject was found sleeping on the south side of the building. The subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning.

Perry-Castañeda Library, 101 East 21st Street

Occurred on 8-13-03 between 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.

Theft: A black leather briefcase was stolen from under a study desk on the 6th floor. Loss value: $20.00.

Sarah M. and Charles E. Seay Building, 108 East Dean Keeton

Occurred on 8-13-03 at 11:30 a.m.

Suspicious Person: A UT employee walked into her unsecured 3rd floor office and found an unidentified subject who gave a "vague story" about why he was in the room. Several items inside the room were misarranged and a co-workers cabinet drawer had been partially opened. The employee escorted the subject to the 1st floor where he exited the building. A second UT staff member had observed a subject matching the description exiting a silver colored vehicle parked in the 2600 block of Speedway just before entering the building. The subject was described as a white male, in his 20's, 5'10" tall, medium build, dark eyes, "dirty blonde" hair in a ponytail, wearing a blue shirt, khaki pants and muddy black leather shoes. The subject called himself "Jack" and was carrying a backpack that looked like it contained large, heavy items.

Occurred between 5-2-03 and 8-12-03 at 10:00 a.m.

Theft: $515.00 cash was stolen from two secured safes inside a secured 2nd floor office.
