Brazos Garage, 210 East Martin Luther King Blvd.

Occurred on 10-16-03 at 12:26 a.m.

Attempted Theft of Service / Leaving the Scene Collision: A UT staff member was exiting the parking garage in a red 1993 Nissan Sentra when she noticed a gray Ford Excursion attempting to follow her vehicle through the control arm exit gate without paying the parking garage fee. When the staff member stopped her vehicle to allow the control arm to close, the Ford Excursion hit the rear bumper of her vehicle. The driver of the Ford Excursion refused to provide any identification or insurance information to the staff member. The driver of the Ford Excursion left the area prior to the arrival of a police officer. The driver of the Ford Excursion is described as a black male, 6'6" tall, 315 pounds, early 20's. Repair cost: $1,000.00.

Beauford H. Jester Center West, 210 East 21st Street

Occurred on 10-16-03 at 1:30 a.m.

Harassing Communications: A Jester West Resident Assistant received a threatening telephone call at her 9th floor dormitory room. The Resident Assistant utilized the star-57 (*57) feature on her dormitory telephone to "trap" the telephone number of the caller. It was determined the telephone call came from another 9th floor dormitory room.

Main Building, #1 South Mall

Occurred between 10-13-03 at 8:00 a.m. and 10-15-03 at 7:35 a.m.

Graffiti: A black pen was used to write a word on the control panel of elevator #2. Removal cost: $30.00.

Parking Lot 114, Leona Street at 21st Street

Occurred on 10-15-03 at 7:39 p.m.

Graffiti / Evading: A UT bicycle patrol officer was investigating the sound of breaking glass in the Parking Lot when he observed a non-UT subject hiding behind a utility pole. The subject fled the area on a bicycle. When the officer caught up to the subject and forced the subject off the bicycle, the subject stated he thought he was being stopped for marking on a utility power box located on the utility pole. The subject had used a black permanent marker to write words on the utility power box. Removal cost: $50.00.

Parlin Hall, #2 South Mall

Occurred on 10-15-03 between 11:00 and 11:15 a.m.

Theft: A black Macintosh G-3 Powerbook laptop computer was stolen from an unsecured first floor office. The purse of a faculty member who works in the office was found on the floor in the middle of the room. Loss value: $1,000.00.
