F. Loren Winship Drama Building, 300 East 23rd Street

Occurred on 01-19-04 between 11:25 a.m. and 11:50 a.m.

Theft: A Giant Sedona DX bicycle was stolen while it was parked and unsecured in the bicycle racks on the east side of the building while the owner went inside the building to check on a grade. Loss value: $250.00.

Frank C. Erwin Special Events Center, 1701 Red River

Occurred between 01-16-04 at 5:00 p.m. and 01-19-04 at 10:30 a.m.

Theft: A black Briggs and Stratton 5 horsepower engine and a liquid pump were stolen from an unsecured storage trailer on the southeast side of the building. Loss value: $300.00.

Frank C. Erwin Special Events Center, 1701 Red River

Occurred on 01-17-04 at 4:00 p.m.

Theft (2 counts) / Possession of Alcohol by a Minor / Public Intoxication: Two UT students, one of whom was under the age of 21, were seen exiting a 2nd floor storage room with a total of six cans of Dos Equis beer in their pant pockets. The students returned the beer after they were confronted by Frank Erwin Center staff members. The two students were later seen playing basketball on the arena floor while in possession of a 1 liter bottle of Jim Beam whiskey that had been stolen from the same 2nd floor storage room. One of the students was found to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage to the point they were a physical endangerment to himself. Recovered value: $25.00.

Parking Lot 70, 2000 Robert Dedman Drive

Occurred on 01-17-04 at 3:57 p.m.

Leaving the Scene Collision: A silver 2004 Ford Taurus 4-door struck the left rear quarter panel of a parked 2002 Honda Civic 2-door. The driver of the Ford Taurus left the scene without leaving notice as the owner of the Honda approached her parked vehicle. Repair cost: $500.00.

Prather Hall Dormitory, 305 East 21st Street

Occurred on 01-17-04 at 5:30 p.m.

Possession of Drug Paraphernalia / Possession of a Controlled Substance: A UT student was found in a 1st floor dormitory room while in possession of a multi-colored glass pipe containing burnt marijuana residue and a plastic bag containing a white powder residue that tested positive for phencyclidine (PCP).

Occurred on 01-20-04 at 4:30 a.m.

Driving While Intoxicated / Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor: A silver Honda Passport was stopped for the traffic violation of disregarding a traffic control device. The driver, a UT student who was under the age of 21, was found to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage to the point he was driving while intoxicated.

San Jacinto Residence Hall, 309 East 21st Street

Occurred on 01-20-04 between 12:01 a.m. and 12:44 a.m.

Harassment: An unidentified subject placed 7 anonymous and harassing telephone calls to a 5th floor south tower dormitory room. The resident used the star 57 (*57) feature of her dormitory room telephone in an attempt to trap the telephone number of the caller.

T. U. Taylor Hall, #8 East Mall

Occurred on 01-18-04 at 9:10 p.m.

Breach of Computer Security / Criminal Trespass: A non-UT subject was found inside a basement level computer lab while using a computer program that is designed to bypass computer log-on procedures. The subject had previously been issued a written criminal trespass warning.

Union Building, #4 West Mall

Occurred between 01-15-04 at 7:00 p.m. and 01-16-04 at 7:00 a.m.

Graffiti: An unknown object was used to etch letters in two 1st floor restroom doors. Repair cost: $125.00.

Union Building, #4 West Mall

Occurred between 01-15-04 at 7:00 p.m. and 01-16-04 at 7:00 a.m.

Graffiti: An unknown object was used to etch symbols in the top of a wooden desk located inside an unsecured 3rd floor study lounge. Repair cost: $100.00.

Walter Webb Hall, 2500 Guadalupe

Discovered on 01-17-04 at 3:30 p.m.

Graffiti: White paint was used to write a word on the east exterior wall of the building. Removal cost: $50.00.
