J. T. Patterson Laboratories Building, 2415 Speedway

Occurred on 2-25-04 at 8:40 a.m.

Burglary: A UT staff member confronted a subject who was carrying a Macintosh G4 computer, a 17" flat screen monitor and a keyboard wrapped up in a garbage bag out of a 6th floor room. When the subject was confronted he abandoned the stolen computer then fled the area on foot and was last seen near the construction site located in the 200 block of East 24th Street. The subject was described as a white or Hispanic male, 5'10" tall, "stocky" build, wearing a black leather jacket, a blue hooded sweatshirt, and blue sweat pants. Recovery value: $2,500.00.

Service Building, 304 East 24th Street

Occurred on 02-25-04 at 11:05 a.m.

Burglary: A non-UT subject, who had earlier been seen committing a burglary in J. T. Patterson Laboratories Building, was seen in a 1st floor workroom. At that time the subject was missing one of his shoes and was wearing a stolen UT hard hat. The subject told a UT employee he needed to use a telephone and was then seen unbuttoning a uniform shirt that had been left hanging on the wall by a telephone. The subject left the area after the staff member told him to do so. A UT officer stopped the subject in the 2000 block of San Jacinto at which time the subject was in possession of the stolen hard hat and a pair of work gloves both of which were stolen from the Service Building. Recovery value: $38.00.

1500 Red River

Occurred on 02-25-04 at 9:30 a.m.

Assist Outside Agency: A non-UT subject, who matched the description of a burglary suspect from J. T. Patterson Laboratories Building, was stopped for identification purposes. Before the subject could be ruled out as a suspect, it was determined that the subject had four outstanding outside agency arrest warrants for failing to appear in court.

1700 San Jacinto Blvd.

Occurred on 02-25-04 at 2:57 a.m.

Driving While Intoxicated: A non-UT subject was stopped after driving a yellow 2003 Pontiac 2-door the wrong way on two different one-way roadways. The subject was found to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage to the point she was driving while intoxicated.

1900 San Jacinto Blvd.

Occurred on 02-25-04 between 9:30 p.m. and 9:50 p.m.

Theft: A hood ornament was stolen from a parked 1997 Mercedes Benz 4-door. Loss value: $50.00.

Union Building, #4 West Mall

Occurred on 2-25-04 at 10:50 p.m.

Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor / Assist Outside Agency / Criminal Trespass: A non-UT subject, who was under the age of 21 was found in the Underground harassing patrons and using profane language. The subject was found to have an outstanding outside agency arrest warrant. In addition to other law enforcement action taken, the subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning.

Union Building, #4 West Mall

Occurred on 2-25-04 at 10:50 p.m.

Public Intoxication: A non-UT subject was found in the Underground while under the influence of an alcoholic beverage to the point he was a physical endangerment to himself.
