Ashbell Smith Hall, 201 West 7th Street

Occurred on 5-8-04 at 2:33 a.m.

Public Intoxication / Assault on a Public Servant / Evading Arrest: A UT guard officer attempted to assist a non-UT subject who was bleeding from his fingers. The subject punched the guard officer's left jaw prior to running away. A UT Police Officer observed the subject and ordered him to stop. The subject continued to flee and attempted to hide in shrubbery. The subject was found to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage to the point he was a physical endangerment to himself.

Calhoun Hall, #4 South Mall

Occurred on 5-7-04 between 4:30 p.m. and 10:00 p.m.

Theft: A leather brief case and a Macintosh G4 14" laptop computer were stolen from an unsecured 2nd floor office. Loss value: $2,100.00.

2100 Comal Street

Occurred on 5-9-04 at 4:30 p.m.

Criminal Trespass / Retaliation: A non-UT subject was found panhandling for money in an aggressive manner and shaking his fist in the face of one student until the student offered the subject a hot dog in lieu of giving the subject money. The subject had previously been issued a written criminal trespass warning. After the subject was taken into custody, he made a total of 17 death threats and 9 threats of serious bodily injury to the arresting officers.

Garrison Hall, #3 East Mall

Occurred on 5-7-4 at 5:30 p.m.

Criminal Trespass: A non-UT subject was found in a 1st floor restroom that is reserved for faculty, staff and students. The subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning.

2500 Guadalupe

Occurred on 5-8-04 at 10:50 p.m.

Public Intoxication: A non-UT subject was found yelling abusive language to a pedestrian while attempting to start a fight with the pedestrian. The non-UT subject was found to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage to the point he was a physical endangerment to himself.

Beauford H. Jester Center East, 201 East 21st Street

Occurred on 5-8-04 at 4:00 a.m.

Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor: A UT student, who was under the age of 21, was found bending over a planter box in the Jester breezeway while having an involuntary physical reaction to the over consumption of an alcoholic beverage. The student advised the officer she had been worse before and that "everyone" drinks in college.

Criminal Trespass: A non-UT subject was found in a 1st floor television lounge that is reserved for residents of the dormitory. The subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning.

Occurred between 5-7-04 at 8:00 a.m. and 5-8-04 at 12:20 a.m.

Criminal Mischief: An unidentified subject bent the waterspout to a sink in a 1st floor men's restroom until it broke away from the sink. Repair cost: $50.00.

2300 San Jacinto Blvd.

Occurred on 5-9-04 at 2:30 a.m.

Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor / Driving While Intoxicated: A UT student, who was under the age of 21, was stopped after running a stop sign while driving a red 2001 Jeep. The student was found to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage to the point he was driving while intoxicated.

San Jacinto Garage, 2401 San Jacinto Blvd.

Occurred on 5-7-04 between 7:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.

Leaving the Scene Collision: A black 2004 Jaguar 4-door was struck in the rear bumper by a vehicle that left the scene without leaving notice. A witness left a note on the struck vehicle that provided the license plate number of the striking vehicle. Repair cost: $1,000.00.

Traffic Paint Shop, 2920 San Jacinto Blvd.

Discovered on 5-8-04 at 7:40 a.m.

Graffiti: Aerosol spray paint was used to write a word on the north exterior wall of a detached storage shed. Removal cost: $50.00.

Trinity Garage, 1815 Trinity Street

Occurred on 5-8-04 between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.

Theft: The owner of a white 2001 Ford Mustang returned to her parked vehicle between the ground level and 1st level of the garage to discover the license plates to her vehicle had been stolen and replaced with license plates registered to another vehicle. The license plates that were left were registered to another Ford that had been reported to the Austin Police Department as a stolen vehicle. Replacement cost: $10.00.

Union Building, #4 West Mall

Occurred between 5-6-04 at 6:00 p.m. and 5-7-04 at 12 midnight.

Theft: A white men's bicycle (brand unknown) was stolen while it was left unsecured on the bicycle racks located on the north side of the building. Loss value: $100.00.

University Police Building, 2201 Robert Dedman Drive

Occurred on 5-7-04.

Assist Outside Agency: While conducting an investigation, a UTPD criminal investigator located two items in a pawn shop that had been reported stolen in Arlington, Texas. Recovery value: $950.00.

Walter Webb Hall, 2500 Guadalupe

Discovered on 5-7-04 at 9:20 a.m.

Graffiti: A white paint pen was used to write a word on the south exterior wall of the building. Removal cost: $50.00.
