Engineering Teaching Center, 204 East Dean Keeton

Occurred on 7-8-04 between 8:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.

Theft: A gold Trek 4500 bicycle was stolen when it was secured with a cable lock to a support pole to the footbridge located on the north side of the building. Loss value: $400.00.

Ernest Cockrell Jr. Hall, 301 East Dean Keeton

Occurred on 7-9-04 between 6:00 p.m. and 7:20 p.m.

Theft: A Hewlett-Packard laptop computer was stolen while it was secured with a cable lock to a desk in an unsecured basement level office. The cable lock appeared to have been cut. Loss value: $1,000.00.

Experimental Science Building, 100 East 24th Street

Occurred on 7-10-04 at 8:45 a.m.

Suspicious Person: A UT faculty member reported an unidentified subject had "peeked" into her office. When asked, the subject stated he worked with UT Custodial Services and had cleaned the office the previous night. The subject then stated he wanted to "check to make sure everything was okay." The subject left the area. The subject was described as a black male in his 20's medium build, 5'9" tall wearing a black t-shirt with white lettering, blue jeans, a navy backpack with a portable stereo (walkman) in one of the pockets.

Frank C. Erwin Special Events Center, 1701 Red River

Occurred between 7-10-04 at 9:30 p.m. and 7-11-04 at 11:15 a.m.

Theft: Twelve 8-ounce cans of Piranha Energy Drink and three 28 ounce Tiki cups were stolen from a vending cart located in the hallway of the arena level of the building. Loss value: $57.00.

Frank C. Erwin Special Events Center, 1701 Red River

Occurred between 7-10-04 at 10:30 p.m. and 7-11-04 at 8:00 a.m.

Theft: Six plastic yellow mugs in the shape of an elephant and one 16" long plastic sword were stolen from a secured storage locker located at a concession stand by sections 23 and 24. Loss value: $14.00.

Frank C. Erwin Special Events Center, 1701 Red River

Occurred on 7-11-04 between 4:00 p.m. and 4:25 p.m.

Theft: A black leather purse containing a Sprint Samsung cellular telephone, a set of keys and a wallet with $6.00, four credit cards and various forms of identification was stolen when the purse was left near the west entrance door to the Mezzanine level of the building. Prior to canceling the cellular telephone service and credit cards, an unauthorized charge in the amount of $54.00 was made on one of the credit cards at a nearby gas station. Loss value: $128.00.

Penick-Allison Tennis Center, 1701 Trinity

Discovered on 7-12-04 at 2:15 a.m.

Graffiti: A silver paint pen was used to write words on a metal entry gate located on the east side of the tennis center. Removal cost: $50.00.

Perry-Castañeda Library, 101 East 21st Street

Discovered on 7-10-04 at 10:11 p.m.

Graffiti: A black permanent marker was used to write words on a wall in a 3rd floor men's restroom. Removal cost: $50.00.

Peter T. Flawn Academic Center, #2 West Mall

Discovered on 7-12-04 at 12:05 a.m.

Criminal Mischief: A black pen was used to write words on a wall in a 1st floor men's restroom. Removal cost: $20.00.

2400 San Antonio Street

Occurred on 7-11-04 at 3:45 a.m.

Driving While Intoxicated / Possession of Marijuana / Possession of a Controlled Substance: A non-UT subject was stopped while driving a white Isuzu sport utility with its head lamps off and speeding. The subject was found to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage to the point he was driving while intoxicated. On several occasions, the subject displayed an inability to control his bodily functions. The subject was found to be in possession of less than two ounce of marijuana and 5 grams of cocaine.

2100 San Jacinto Blvd.

Occurred on 7-11-04 at 2:05 a.m.

Public Intoxication: A UT student was found "staggering, stumbling and swaying" while walking. The student had difficulty comprehending the officer's questions. The student was found to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage to the point he was a physical endangerment to himself.

T. U. Taylor Hall, #8 East Mall

Occurred on 7-10-04 at 1:25 a.m.

Suspicious Person: A UT custodian reported an unidentified subject in a 1st floor custodial closet looking at custodial staff members' personal property. The subject advised he was looking for paper towels. The custodian referred the subject to the men's restroom that was located across the hallway from the custodial closet. The subject entered the restroom. The subject was described as a black male, approximately 5'9" tall and wearing blue jeans, a blue shirt and headphones to a portable stereo system.

Union Building, #4 West Mall

Discovered on 7-9-04 at 9:50 a.m.

Graffiti: An unknown device was used to etch two words in a wall located in the southeast stairwell on the 3rd floor. Repair cost: $200.00.

Union Building, #4 West Mall

Occurred between 6-30-04 at 1:00 p.m. and 7-7-04 at 12 noon.

Theft: A black Columbia bowling ball bag containing a black Columbia 300 bowling ball and a black nylon bowling ball bag containing a black Columbia Scout bowling ball were stolen from a secured locker in a first floor men's locker room. The locker was equipped with a built in combination lock. Loss value: $80.00.

Union Building, #4 West Mall

Occurred on 7-11-04 between 11:05 p.m. and 11:49 p.m.

Graffiti: A black permanent marker was used to write words on a wall in a 1st floor men's restroom. Removal cost: $50.00.

Walter Webb Hall, 2500 Guadalupe

Occurred on 7-11-04 at 5:45 p.m.

Criminal Trespass: A non-UT subject was found lying down on a piece of cardboard in the Parking Lot on the west side of the building. The subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning.

23rd Street and San Jacinto Blvd.

Occurred on 7-11-04 at 1:45 a.m.

Criminal Trespass: A non-UT subject was found "digging" through several trash cans. The subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning.
