Calhoun Hall, #4 South Mall

Discovered on 7-27-04 at 1:50 a.m.

Graffiti: A white permanent marker was used to write a word on a metal ashtray located on the east side of the building. Removal cost: $50.00.

Beauford H. Jester Center West, 201 East 21st Street

Occurred between 7-23-04 at 8:00 a.m. and 7-26-04 at 10:10 p.m.

Burglary: A black internet router was stolen from a cabinet located in an unsecured 3rd floor classroom. The cabinet's lock had been altered in a manner that prevented the lock from securing. Loss value: $50.00.

Parking Lot 110, 2200 Comal Street

Occurred on 7-26-04 between 8:50 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.

Criminal Mischief: An unknown object was used to make several scratches along the left and right sides of a red 2003 Honda Civic while it was parked in Parking Lot. Repair cost: $500.00.

Parking Lot 116, 26th Street and IH-35

Occurred between 7-23-04 at 5:00 p.m. and 7-26-04 at 8:10 a.m.

Graffiti: Black paint was used to paint a word and an emblem on a tan storage trailer located on the east side of the building. Removal cost: $100.00.

Perry-Castañeda Library, 101 East 21st Street

Occurred on 7-26-04 at 3:08 p.m.

Suspicious Activity: A UT staff member received a telephone call from a subject who advised the staff member she had won $200.00 worth of gasoline. The caller asked the staff member for her bank account number to process a $3.95 processing fee. The staff member refused to give such information out over the telephone. The caller gave the staff member a 1-800 telephone number and a "confirmation number" to verify the winnings. The staff member used the *57 feature on her university telephone to trap the telephone number of the caller. The staff member conducted an internet search and discovered the call was a scam.

George I. Sánchez Building, 1912 Speedway

Occurred on 7-26-04 at 10:45 a.m.

Suspicious Person: An unidentified subject approached a UT student on the 2nd floor of the building and started a religious based conversation with the student. The subject asked the student what he would do if someone told him they wanted to harm themselves. The subject then told the student he wanted to continue the conversation in a more private location. At that point the two parted ways. The subject was described as a black male, approximately 30 years old, 5'10 tall, 160 pounds, short uncombed hair, scruffy beard wearing a brown t-shirt and tan pants. A similar report with a subject who matched the description of this subject was reported on 7-25-04 at 2:00 pm near the Peter T. Flawn Academic Center. In both cases, the subject made similar statements.

1601 East 20th Street

Occurred between 7-23-04 at 4:00 p.m. and 7-26-04 at 6:30 a.m.

Burglary of Motor Vehicle: The left front window was broken out of a 1997 Ford Van while it was parked in the fenced in dirt lot. The vehicle registration sticker was stolen from the windshield. Repair cost: $150.00. Loss value: $60.00.
