Gateway Apartments, 1622 West 6th Street
Occurred on 7-31-04 at 3:45 p.m.
Theft of Service / Criminal Trespass: A non-UT subject was found "dumping" trash into a dumpster that is reserved for residents of the apartment complex. The subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning.
Discovered on 8-1-04 at 4:40 p.m.
Graffiti: Black spray paint and a stencil were used to write words on a limestone retaining wall located on the east side of the road. Removal cost: $50.00.
Penick-Allison Tennis Center, 1701 Trinity
Occurred on 8-2-04 at 1:12 a.m.
Criminal Trespass (2 counts): Two non-UT subjects were found in a 1st floor men's restroom when the facility was closed to the public. Both subjects were issued written criminal trespass warnings.
Robert A. Welch Hall, 105 East 24th Street
Occurred on 7-30-04 at 9:00 p.m.
Public Intoxication: A non-UT subject was found sleeping on a sidewalk located on the south side of the building. The subject was under the influence of an alcoholic beverage to the point he was a physical endangerment to himself.
Townes Hall, 727 East Dean Keeton
Occurred on 7-31-04 at 7:40 p.m.
Criminal Trespass (2 counts) / Assist Outside Agency: While investigating a propped open door, a UT police officer located two non-UT subjects in a 2nd floor lounge that is reserved for faculty, staff and students. One of the subjects was found to have an outstanding outside agency arrest warrant for theft by check. In addition to other law enforcement action taken, both subjects were issued written criminal trespass warnings.
Union Building, #4 West Mall
Occurred on 7-30-04 at 10:35 p.m.
Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor (2 counts): Two non-UT subjects, who were both under the age of 21, were observed by Union Building staff members consuming alcoholic beverages. Police Officers were able to determine that both subjects had consumed alcoholic beverages.
2610 Whitis Avenue
Occurred on 7-30-04 at 6:35 p.m.
Public Lewdness: A UT student reported an unidentified subject approached her from behind and grabbed her right breast with one hand and her left lower posterior with his other hand. The subject "smirked" and ran away when the student began to yell. The student used a near-by "Police Help" call box to report the incident. The subject was described as a white male, late teens to early 20's, approximately 5'6" tall, 150 pounds, brown hair, wearing blue shorts, a red t-shirt, black baseball cap and running shoes. The subject was last seen running northbound in the 2500 block of Whitis Avenue.
Wooldridge Hall, 600 West 24th Street
Discovered on 7-31-04 at 11:32 a.m.
Graffiti: Black spray paint and blue spray paint were used to write words on the northeast side of the building. Removal cost: $75.00.
400 East 23rd Street
Occurred on 7-30-04 at 10:20 p.m.
Driving While Intoxicated: A non-UT subject was stopped for speeding while driving a 2001 Mazda MPV. The subject was found to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage to the point he was driving while intoxicated.
