Occurred on 8-10-04 between 3:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.
Theft: A black Sony Vaio SR27 laptop computer and a Sony Vaio power supply cord were stolen from an unsecured 3rd floor office. Loss value: $1,883.00. During the time frame of the theft, the owner was in and out of his office.
Centennial Park, 1620 Red River
Occurred on 8-11-04 at 5:51 p.m.
Criminal Trespass / Possession of Drug Paraphernalia: A non-UT subject was stopped while exiting the park with a bicycle. The subject matched the description of a suspect who had been seen in the area carrying bolt cutters, a tool commonly used in bicycle thefts. The subject was found to be in possession of two glass pipes containing burned marijuana residue. The subject stated he was using the restrooms in Penick-Allison Tennis Center to bath. The subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning.
Gregory Gymnasium, 2101 Speedway
Occurred between 8-4-04 at 12 noon and 8-6-04 at 10:00 p.m.
Theft: A silver and pink Princess Plush bicycle was stolen while it was secured with a cable lock to a bicycle rack located on the west side of the building. Loss value: $80.00.
Beauford H. Jester Center West, 201 East 21st Street
Occurred between 7-26-04 and 8-10-04 at 2:30 p.m.
Criminal Mischief: A telephone data cable was pulled from a switchboard box located inside a secured 14th floor data closet. Repair cost: $219.00.
Music and Bates Recital Hall, 2405 Trinity
Discovered on 8-11-04 at 4:50 p.m.
Criminal Mischief: White chalk was used to make markings on the bricks located by the south entrance to the building. Removal cost: $30.00.
Discovered on 8-12-04 at 4:20 a.m.
Graffiti: A silver gel pen was used to write a word on a street light pole located on the east side of the street. Removal cost: $50.00.
