Animal Resources Center, 2701 Speedway

Occurred on 10-9-04 at 1:15 a.m.

Criminal Trespass: A non-UT subject was found sleeping in a doorway located on the north side of the building. The subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning.

Bernard and Audre Rapoport Building, #5 East Mall

Occurred on 10-9-04 at 5:45 p.m.

Criminal Trespass: A non-UT subject was found sleeping on a retaining wall located on the south side of the building. The subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning.

Engineering Teaching Center, 204 East Dean Keeton

Occurred between 10-8-04 at 9:30 p.m. and 10-9-04 at 12:15 a.m.

Theft: A blue Roadmaster bicycle was stolen while it was secured with a cable lock to a bicycle rack located on the west side of the building. Loss value: $100.00.

Frank C. Erwin Special Events Center, 1701 Red River

Occurred on 10-9-04 at 9:25 p.m.

Assault: After being ejected from a comedy concert for taking photographs inside the building, a non-UT subject threw a disposable camera striking the usher who had ejected her from the building. The disposable camera struck the usher in the ear.

3400 Guadalupe

Occurred on 10-9-04 at 10:00 p.m.

Public Intoxication: A non-UT subject was found "passed out" in the middle of the sidewalk. The subject was found to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage to the point Austin EMS had to transport the subject to a local emergency room for treatment of alcohol poisoning.

Beauford H. Jester Center East, 203 East 21st Street

Occurred between 10-1-04 and 10-10-04 at 9:50 p.m.

Harassment: Unidentified subjects have placed several unwanted and annoying telephone calls to a 1st floor resident's dormitory room telephone. The resident used the star 57 (*57) feature of her dormitory telephone to trap the phone number of the last subject who called.

Beauford H. Jester Center West, 201 East 21st Street

Occurred on 10-9-04 between 5:30 p.m. and 5:50 p.m.

Theft: A blue and black Hewlett-Packard laptop computer was stolen from an unsecured 13th floor dormitory room while the owner's roommate slept inside the dormitory room. Loss value: $1,300.00.

Beauford H. Jester Center West, 201 East 21st Street

Occurred between 9-23-04 at 10:30 a.m. and 10-10-04 at 12 midnight.

Harassment: An unidentified subject has placed two unwelcome and lewd typed notes on a 4th floor resident's dormitory room door.

Kinsolving Dormitory, 2605 Whitis Avenue

Occurred between 10-1-04 and 10-8-04 at 9:35 a.m.

Criminal Mischief: A cable lock was cut from a bicycle rack that was securing a bicycle to the west side bicycle racks. The bicycle was not stolen. The cut cable lock was found lying on the ground near two bicycle seats. Loss value: $15.00.

Moore-Hill Dormitory, 214 East 21st Street

Occurred between 10-7-04 at 8:30 p.m. and 10-8-04 at 7:00 a.m.

Theft: A black "retro style" Huffy bicycle was stolen while it was secured with a cable lock to a bicycle rack located on the south side of the building. The owner owned a u-lock, which he had "left on the ground" by his bicycle. Loss value: $125.00.

O. Henry Hall, 601 Colorado

Occurred on 10-10-04 at 3:00 a.m.

Public Intoxication / Assist Outside Agency: A non-UT subject was observed yelling and running in the roadway. The subject was then observed performing a voluntary bodily function while standing near the west main entrance to the building. The subject was found to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage to the point he was a physical endangerment to himself. The subject was also found to have 3 outstanding outside agency arrest warrants for traffic violations, 1 outstanding outside agency arrest warrant for violation of promise to appear in court, and 1 outstanding outside agency arrest warrant for felony theft.

O. Henry Hall, 601 Colorado

Occurred on 10-10-04 4:40 p.m.

Criminal Trespass: A non-UT subject was reported as looking into parked vehicles. The subject was found sitting on the porch located on the south side of the building. The subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning.

Parking Lot 28, 600 West 24th Street

Occurred on 10-10-10-04 at 3:44 p.m.

Suspicious Activity: A UT student reported an unidentified subject had attempted to obtain money from people as a parking fee for the Parking Lot.

Parking Lot 88, 2300 Block 23rd Street

Occurred on 10-9-04 3:20 a.m.

Public Intoxication: A UT student was found lying in the Parking Lot and yelling. The student was found to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage to the point he was a physical endangerment to himself.

Parking Lot 103, 2100 Comal Street

Discovered on 10-10-04 at 12:23 a.m.

Burglary of Motor Vehicle: The front right side window was broken out of a 1998 Ford F-150 pick-up truck while it was parked in the Parking Lot. At this time, it is unknown if anything was stolen from the vehicle. Repair cost: $150.00.

Union Building, #4 West Mall

Occurred on 10-9-04 at 3:17 a.m.

Criminal Trespass / Possession of Marijuana / Possession of Drug Paraphernalia: A non-UT subject was found loitering on the west side of the building. The subject was found to be in possession of a plastic bag containing a small amount of marijuana and a multi-colored glass pipe that contained burned marijuana residue. In addition to other law enforcement action taken, the subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning.

Union Building, #4 West Mall

Occurred on 10-9-04 between 2:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.

Theft: A silver Panasonic portable DVD player was stolen when it was left in a secured 4th floor room. Loss value: $200.00.

University Teaching Center, 105 West 21st Street

Discovered on 10-9-04 at 4:40 p.m.

Graffiti: Black spray paint was used to write words on the north exterior wall. Removal cost: $100.00.

Wooldridge Hall, 600 West 24th Street

Occurred on 10-8-04 at 7:10 p.m.

Criminal Trespass: Four non-UT subjects were found in an exterior stairwell located on the north side of the building. The stairwell serves as an emergency exit only for the second floor. All four subjects were issued written criminal trespass warnings.

100 West 24th Street

Occurred on 10-8-04 between 5:45 p.m. and 10:00 p.m.

Leaving the Scene Collision: An unidentified subject driving a tan 1991 Nissan Stanza 4-door struck the rear bumper of a parked Honda Accord several times while attempting to parallel park. The driver of the Nissan Stanza left the scene without leaving notice. Two witnesses to the collision left a note on the struck Honda Accord. Repair cost: $400.00.

Noncriminal calls: In addition to the above criminal cases, UTPD responded to 36 alarm calls, 10 unsecured door reports, 4 medical emergencies, and 9 calls for key assists.
