Brackenridge Apartments, 3300 Lake Austin Blvd.

Reported on 10-14-04 at 11:00 a.m.

Criminal Mischief: An unknown object was used to shatter the rear window to a tan 1998 Mazda van while it was parked on Jasper Lane. Repair cost: $300.00.

Brazos Garage, 210 East Martin Luther King Blvd.

Occurred between 10-10-04 at 5:00 p.m. and 10-14-04 at 4:30 p.m.

Graffiti: Red spray paint was used to write a word on an exterior brick wall located on the south side of the building. Removal cost: $50.00.

Jesse H. Jones Communication Center, Building A, 2504 Whitis Avenue

Occurred on 10-14-04 between 11:00 a.m. and 11:15 a.m.

Theft: A black nylon Nikon camera bag containing a Nikon D70 digital camera, a Nikkor AF 30 mm to 70 mm zoom camera lens, a Nikkor AF 180 mm camera lens and a Canon Powershot G-3 digital camera was stolen when it was left on a table in an unsecured 3rd floor computer lab. Loss value: $2,775.00.

Moncrief-Neuhaus Athletics Center, 2015 San Jacinto Blvd.

Occurred on 10-13-04 between 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

Theft: A Verizon VX6000 cellular camera-telephone was stolen when it was left near a public payphone in an unsecured 1st floor hallway. Loss value: $300.00.

Parking Lot 70, 2000 Robert Dedman Drive

Occurred on 10-14-04 between 7:00 a.m. and 12:50 p.m.

Criminal Mischief: An unknown object was used to scratch the paint on the right side front door, the left side front door and across the hood of a 2003 silver Nissan Altima 4-door while it was parked in the north side of the Parking Lot. Repair cost: $500.00.

Perry-Castañeda Library, 101 East 21st Street

Occurred between 10-14-04 at 3:15 p.m. and 10-15-04 at 12:05 a.m.

Theft: A red Magna Exciter bicycle was stolen while it was secured with a cable lock to a bicycle rack located on the north side of the building. The bicycle was not registered with The University of Texas at Austin Parking and Transportation services. The owner located a bicycle he believed was his secured to a bicycle rack located on the north side of Jester Center West. That bicycle was not registered with UT Parking and Transportation either. The authorized owner of the found bicycle could not be determined. Loss value: $100.00.

Pharmacy Building, 2409 University Avenue

Occurred on 10-13-04 between 12:45 p.m. and 1:50 p.m.

Theft: A black cloth purse containing $5.00 cash, a Cingular cellular telephone and various credit and identification cards was stolen when it was left in an unsecured 2nd floor lobby. Loss value: $15.00.

Tower Manor, 1908 University

Discovered on 10-15-04 at 6:40 a.m.

Burglary: An unidentified subject or subjects broke a window out of a ground floor window located on the west side of the building. Several walls located in various rooms of the vacant building were damaged as if objects were slammed into the walls. Repair cost is not determined at this point.

21st Street and Speedway

Occurred on 10-14-04 at 3:45 p.m.

Criminal Trespass: Two non-UT subjects were found asking students to sign up for a credit card account, a violation of UT Regents' Rules and Regulations concerning solicitation. Both subjects were issued written criminal trespass warnings.

200 West 22nd Street

Occurred on 10-15-04 at 3:00 a.m.

Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor (4 counts) / Failure to Identify / Public Intoxication: Four UT students, who were all under the age of 21, were found running while yelling "we're (explicative) drunk." One of the subjects initially provided a police officer with a fictitious name and date of birth. All four students were found to have consumed alcoholic beverages. One student was under the influence of an alcoholic beverage to the point he was a physical endangerment to himself.

Noncriminal Calls: In addition to the above criminal cases, UTPD responded to 9 alarm calls, 2 unsecured door reports, 3 suspicious activity reports, 1 accidental damage report, 1 service call, 2 medical emergency calls, 1 disturbance over a parking issue and 1 call for a key assist between 10-14-04 and 10-15-04.
