Applied Computational Engineering and Sciences Building (ACES), 201 East 24th Street

Occurred on 11-19-04 between 3:40 p.m. and 4:45 p.m.

Theft: A blue Ironhorse Sonic XS bicycle was stolen while it was secured with a cable lock to a bicycle rack located on the west side of the building. Loss value: $300.00.

Brackenridge Apartments, 3553 Lake Austin

Occurred on 11-20-04 at 11:45 a.m.

Assault / Interference with Emergency Telephone Call: A UT student grabbed his wife around the neck and slapped her. When the wife tried to call the police, the student grabbed the phone from her and hung it up.

Development Office Building, 2901 North IH-35

Discovered on 11-19-04 at 12:30 p.m.

Graffiti: Black spray paint was used to write a word on the southwest corner of the building and on an electrical box located on the northwest side of the building. Removal cost: $75.00.

Harry Ransom Center, 300 West 21st Street

Occurred on 11-21-04 at 3:30 a.m.

Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor: A UT student, who was under the age of 21, was found performing a bodily function while standing near the main entrance to the building. The student was found to have consumed an alcoholic beverage.

Jesse H. Jones Communication Center, 2504 Whitis Avenue

Discovered on 11-20-04 at 6:13 a.m.

Theft of Service: Unknown subject(s) placed a wooden furniture frame and 4 plastic bags containing yard waste inside a garbage dumpster located in the building's loading dock.

Beauford H. Jester Center East, 203 East 21st Street

Occurred on 11-21-04 between 8:45 p.m. and 11:50 p.m.

Harassment: An unidentified subject placed several lewd and offensive telephone calls to several members of a UT athletic team after the team was featured in a recent national magazine.

Parking Lot 37, 2200 Red River

Occurred between 1:45 p.m. and 3:55 p.m. on 11-19-04.

Theft: An unregistered silver and purple 18-speed, Ozone 26" bicycle and U-lock were stolen after being secured to a pole in the Parking Lot. Loss value: $100.00.

Parking Lot 115, 1600 East 20th Street

Occurred between 11-12-04 at 6:00 p.m. and 11-20-04 at 7:45 a.m.

Burglary of Motor Vehicle: The left window was broken out of a white GMC pick-up truck. A Pioneer stereo was stolen from the vehicle. Loss value: $250.00. Repair cost: $150.00.

San Antonio Garage, 2420 San Antonio

Occurred on 11-19-04 at 6:30 p.m.

Criminal Trespass / Evading / Assist Outside Agency: A non-UT subject was found sitting in the southeast stairwell on the 3rd level of the garage. The subject attempted to flee the area on foot and ran to the top level of the garage when an officer approached. The subject was found to have four outstanding outside agency arrest warrants for public intoxication (2), failure to identify and disorderly conduct. In addition to other law enforcement action taken, the subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning.

2500 Speedway

Occurred on 11-20-04 at 12:30 p.m.

Assault by Contact: A UT faculty member reported being grabbed by a UT staff member after the two had pulled over after a minor collision. The faculty member's jacket was ripped in the altercation.

Union Building, #4 West Mall

Occurred on 11-21-04 at 12:10 p.m.

Aggravated Assault / Criminal Trespass / Assist Outside Agency: A non-UT subject threatened a UT staff member with a hammer after the staff member asked the subject to leave the building. The subject was found to have two outstanding, outside agency arrest warrants for Public Intoxication. In addition to other law enforcement action taken, the subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning.

Union Building, #4 West Mall

Occurred on 11-19-04 at 3:30 p.m.

Criminal Trespass (4 counts): Four non-UT subjects were found in a 3rd floor room that is reserved for faculty, staff and students. Two of the four subjects initially provided officers with fictitious names and dates of birth. In addition to other law enforcement actions taken, all four subjects were issued written criminal trespass warnings.

University of Texas Elementary School, 2200 East 6th Street

Occurred on 11-21-04 at 9:48 p.m.

Consumption of Alcohol Near a School: A non-UT subject was found consuming an alcoholic beverage withIN 1000 feet of the school's property.

6th Street at Colorado

Occurred on 11-20-04 at 2:10 a.m.

Public Intoxication: A non-UT subject was found "lying on her hands and knees" in the roadway. The subject was found to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage to the point she was a physical endangerment to herself.

Campus Wide

Occurred at various times.

Noncriminal Calls: In addition to the above criminal cases, UTPD responded to 18 alarm calls, 12 suspicious activity calls, 8 public assist reports, 13 unsecured door reports, 3 EMS calls and numerous reports of road flooding between 11-19-04 and 11-22-04.
