Ashbell Smith Hall, 201 West 7th Street

Discovered on 12-26-04 at 2:00 a.m.

Graffiti: A silver paint pen was used to write illegible words on a hand rail located on the west side of the garage. Removal cost: $50.00.

Brackenridge Apartments, 3300 Lake Austin Blvd.

Discovered on 12-27-04 at 3:50 p.m.

Graffiti: White spray paint was used to write illegible words on five different BFI trash dumpsters located around the apartment complex. Removal cost: $300.00.

Burdine Hall, 2616 Wichita

Discovered on 12-27-04 at 2:00 a.m.

Criminal Mischief: Yellow, blue and green chalk was used to write words on a wall in an exterior stairwell located on the east side of the building. Removal cost: $30.00.

Development Office Building, 2901 North IH-35

Discovered on 12-31-04 at 4:41 p.m.

Graffiti: A black indelible marker was used to write illegible words on a north exterior door, and black spray paint was used to write illegible words on an exterior storage container located on the east side of the building. Removal cost: $75.00.

Engineering-Science Building, 2501 Speedway

Discovered on 12-31-04 at 4:51 p.m.

Criminal Mischief: An unknown object was used to make a small dent in the aluminum door frame to the south exterior doorway. Repair cost: $100.00.

Gateway Apartments, 1622 West 6th Street

Discovered on 12-27-04 at 4:30 p.m.

Graffiti: White spray paint was used to write a word on the side of a BFI trash dumpster located near building 1622. Removal cost: $75.00.

Goldsmith Hall, #5 West Mall

Occurred on 12-23-04 at 6:30 p.m.

Criminal Trespass: A non-UT subject was found smoking a cigarette inside a 2nd floor men's restroom. The subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning.

Goldsmith Hall, #5 West Mall

Discovered on 1-3-05 at 3:30 a.m.

Graffiti: A blue indelible marker was used to draw a design on the yellow "Police Help" callbox located on the north side of the building. Removal cost: $50.00.

Jesse H. Jones Communication Center, Building B, 2504 Whitis Avenue

Occurred on 12-28-04 at 1:40 a.m.

Criminal Trespass: A non-UT subject was found loitering in a 3rd floor restroom that is reserved for faculty, staff and students. The subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning.

Beauford H. Jester Center West, 201 East 21st Street

Occurred on 12-30-04 at 4:10 a.m.

Criminal Trespass / Assist Outside Agency: A non-UT subject was found using a 1st floor men's restroom that is reserved for faculty, staff and students. The subject was found to have an outstanding outside agency arrest warrant for the possession of a controlled substance. In addition to other law enforcement action taken, the subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning.

O. Henry Hall, 601 Colorado

Occurred on 1-2-05 at 2:21 a.m.

Criminal Trespass: A non-UT subject was found sleeping in a breezeway located on the south side of the building. The subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning.

George I. Sánchez Building, 1912 Speedway

Occurred on 12-25-04 at 5:50 p.m.

Criminal Trespass (four counts): Four non-UT subjects were found performing stunts while rollerblading on the east exterior stairs to the building. All four subjects were issued written criminal trespass warnings.

2300 San Jacinto Blvd.

Discovered on 12-26-04 at 6:30 p.m.

Graffiti: White spray paint was used to write a word on the side of a US Postal drop box located on the east side of the street. Removal cost: $50.00.

Sutton Hall, 210 West 21st Street

Discovered on 12-26-04 at 4:00 p.m.

Graffiti: A gold paint pen was used to write a word on drain pipe located on the southeast side of the building. Removal cost: $50.00.

1900 Trinity

Discovered on 12-26-04 at 6:50 p.m.

Graffiti: A silver paint pen was used to write illegible words on a lamp post located on the east side of the street. Removal cost: $50.00.cc

Walter Webb Hall, 2500 Guadalupe

Discovered on 1-2-05 at 11:58 p.m.

Graffiti: Black paint was used to write letters and a symbol on the north exterior brick wall. Removal cost: $100.00.

West Mall Office Building, #3 West Mall

Discovered on 12-25-04 at 9:00 a.m.

Graffiti: A black indelible marker was used to write words on a cement retaining wall on the west side of the building. Removal cost: $50.00.

300 West 24th Street

Occurred on 12-23-04 at 11:32 p.m.

Possession of Alcohol in a Motor Vehicle: A non-UT subject was stopped for disregarding an official traffic control device while driving a red 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse. The subject was found to be in possession of an open bottle of wine.

21st Street and San Jacinto Blvd.

Occurred on 12-24-04 at 10:18 p.m.

Driving While Intoxicated: A non-UT subject was reported as passed out in the driver's seat of a maroon 1991 Chevrolet Camaro while in the middle of the intersection. The subject was awake when officers arrived. The subject had evidence on the front of his shirt that he had suffered an extreme involuntary physical reaction to the over-consumption of an alcoholic beverage. The subject also had evidence on the front of his pants that indicated he had also had an uncontrollable bodily function. The subject was argumentative and challenged police officers to a physical altercation. The subject was found to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage to the point he was driving while intoxicated.

Noncriminal Calls: In addition to the above criminal cases, UTPD responded to 77 alarm calls, 104 unsecured door reports, 32 public assist calls, 1 lighting survey, 1 animal call, 1 collision report, 3 welfare concern reports and 12 suspicious activity reports between 12-23-04 and 1-3-05.
