Ashbell Smith Hall, 201 West 7th Street

Occurred on 1-16-05 at 12:04 a.m.

Public Intoxication / Places Weapons Prohibited / Assist Outside Agency: A non-UT subject was found loitering in the bushes on the north side of the building. The subject was observed holding a closed knife that uses centrifugal force to open the blade. The subject was found to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage to the point he was a physical endangerment to himself and others. The subject was found to have an outstanding outside agency arrest warrant for theft by check.

Brackenridge Hall Dormitory, 207 East 21st Street

Occurred on 1-14-05 between 10:00 p.m. and 10:05 p.m.

Harassment: An unidentified subject has placed several unwanted and lewd telephone calls to a 1st floor resident's dormitory telephone. The resident advised she had received similar telephone calls nearly a year ago. The resident used the *57 feature of her dormitory telephone to trap the telephone number of the caller.

Colorado Building, 702 Colorado

Discovered on 1-18-05 at 1:30 a.m.

Graffiti: A black indelible marker was used to write illegible words on a glass window located on the south side of the building. Removal cost: $40.00.

600 East Dean Keeton

Occurred on 1-17-05 at 3:10 a.m.

Driving While Intoxicated: A UT student, who was under the age of 21, was stopped for speeding and running a stop sign while driving a black vehicle. The student was found to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage to the point he was driving while intoxicated.

Frank C. Erwin Special Events Center, 1701 Red River

Occurred on 1-17-05 at 1:21 a.m.

Possession of Alcohol by a Minor / Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor: Several UT students were found outside of the north entry doors awaiting the start of a men's basketball game that was to take place several hours later. Several open and unopened alcoholic containers were found in the area and were available to the students. One of the students was found to be under the age of 21 and showed signs of having consumed alcoholic beverages.

Beauford H. Jester Center East, 203 East 21st Street

Occurred between 12-19-04 at 11:21 p.m. and 1-9-05 at 11:34 a.m.

Harassment: A UT student has made numerous, unwanted and threatening telephone calls and e-mails to a former acquaintance's cellular telephone and e-mail service. The former acquaintance is a UT student who lives on the 10th floor of the dormitory.

Beauford H. Jester Center West, 201 East 21st Street

Occurred on 1-15-05 at 1:40 a.m.

Possession of Drug Paraphernalia / Possession of Alcohol by a Minor (2 counts): Responding to a smell of marijuana, UT police officers found two UT students, who were both under the age of 21, in a 1st floor dormitory room while in possession of rolling papers, a small amount of marijuana and 47 unopened bottles of beer.

Kinsolving Dormitory, 2605 Whitis Avenue

Occurred between 12-14-04 at 8:00 p.m. and 1-16-05 at 8:30 p.m.

Theft: A red Magna bicycle was stolen while it was secured with a u-lock to a bicycle rack located on the west side of the dormitory. Loss value: $100.00.

Mike A. Myers Track and Soccer Stadium, 707 Clyde Littlefield

Occurred on 1-14-05 between 11:00 a.m. and 12 NOON.

Theft: A credit card, a debit card and $83.00 cash were stolen from a wallet in a red canvas bag that was located in an unsecured track team room. Several unauthorized charges were made on the credit and debit cards prior to them being cancelled.

1500 Red River

Occurred on 1-14-05 at 7:57 p.m.

Driving While Intoxicated: A non-UT subject was stopped after driving a silver 4-door with headlamps off and on the wrong side of the roadway. The subject was found to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage to the point he was driving while intoxicated.

San Jacinto Garage, 2401 San Jacinto Blvd.

Occurred between 1-15-05 at 12 NOON and 1-18-05 at 12:15 a.m.

Theft: A red and black 2002 Honda CBR F4I600 motorcycle was stolen while it was parked in the motorcycle parking area located on the ground floor of the parking garage. Loss value: $5,500.00.

Simkins Hall Dormitory, 2501 San Jacinto Blvd.

Occurred on 1-17-05 at 4:00 a.m.

Harassment / Disorderly Conduct (exposure): A UT student placed four unwanted and annoying telephone calls to a former acquaintance's 2nd floor dormitory room telephone. The female student then went to the 2nd floor dormitory room and began to "bang" on the resident's dormitory room door prior to "stuffing" her personal items under the dormitory room door. A Resident Assistant (RA) arrived to find the female student outside the dormitory room and naked. The RA told the female student to get dressed and leave the area.

Student Services Building, 100 West Dean Keeton

Occurred on 12-30-04 between 8:00 a.m. and 12 NOON.

Theft: A grey Motorola flip cellular telephone in a black leather case was stolen from a rolling cart that was left in an unsecured 1st floor hallway. Loss value: $100.00.

Union Building, #4 West Mall

Occurred between 1-14-05 at 7:50 a.m. and 1-15-05 at 7:45 a.m.

Burglary of a Coin Operated Machine: An unknown device was used to pry a coin operated machine door open. The coin operated machine was located in an unsecured women's restroom. An undetermined amount of product and cash were stolen from the machine. Repair cost: $50.00.

Union Building, #4 West Mall

Occurred between 1-15-05 at 2:00 a.m. and 1-16-05 at 1:45 a.m.

Theft: Three "Emergency Exit" signs were stolen from a hallway wall and door located on the south side of the 1st floor billiards room. Loss value: $30.00.

Union Building, #4 West Mall

Occurred between 1-15-05 2:00 a.m. and 1-16-05 1:45 a.m.

Graffiti: A black indelible marker was used to write illegible words on a paper dispenser located inside a 1st floor men's restroom. Removal cost: $40.00.

Union Building, #4 West Mall

Occurred between 1-15-05 at 2:00 a.m. and 1-16-05 at 1:45 a.m.

Graffiti: An unknown object was used to scratch illegible words in a marble wall inside a 1st floor men's restroom. Removal cost: $75.00.

Walter Webb Hall, 2500 Guadalupe

Occurred between 12-14-04 and 1-13-05 at 4:00 p.m.

Theft: $54.09 cash was stolen from a petty cash safe located inside a secured 1st floor office.

Whitaker Fields, 51st Street and Guadalupe

Occurred between 1-13-05 at 3:00 p.m. and 1-14-05 at 7:30 a.m.

Graffiti: White and blue paint was used to write words on a cement support located on the southeast side of the pedestrian foot bridge. Removal cost: $50.00.

Occurred at various times.

Noncriminal Calls: In addition to the above criminal cases, UTPD responded to 32 alarm calls, 26 unsecured door reports, 1 welfare concern call, 7 public assist calls, 1 medical emergency call and 8 suspicious activity reports between 1-14-05 and 1-18-05.
