Graduate School of Business, 100 West 21st Street

Occurred on 2-25-05 at 12:55 a.m.

Public Intoxication / Evading Arrest or Detention / Fictitious License or Certificate: A UT student, who was under the age of 21, was observed staggering and having difficulty balancing himself. When the student saw a marked UT police patrol car he attempted to run away after being told to stop several times. The student fled into GSB and was located on the 3rd floor. During the investigation the student was found to be in possession of a fictitious Texas driver's license that purported the student to be over the age of 21. The student was found to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage to a point that he was a danger to himself.

Kinsolving Dormitory, 2605 Whitis Ave.

Occurred on 2-25-05 at 3:53 a.m.

Harassment: Several unwanted telephone calls were received from a caller attempting to impersonate an Austin Police Officer and telling the student she was to be arrested. The student receiving the calls allowed her answering machine to screen her calls and received another call from the same subject.

Kinsolving Dormitory, 2605 Whitis Ave.

Occurred on 2-25-05 at 1:05 a.m.

Harassment: A UT staff member received several unwanted telephone calls from a subject wanting a "hit". During the investigation the caller called again and this time spoke with the officer at the scene.

Perry-Castañeda Library, 101 East 21st Street

Occurred on 2-24-05 at 3:30 p.m.

Attempted Theft: An unknown Asian female attempted to walk out of the library without having first checked out a textbook. When the anti-theft device went off the female was stopped and the textbook located. When told to wait for the police officers, the female ran. She is described as: Asian female, 20 years of age, shoulder length black hair, and was last seen wearing a purple sweater and black pants. Recover property $50.00.

Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center, 1900 Red River

Occurred on 2-24-05 between 8:00 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.

Theft: A black and silver Diamondback mountain bicycle was stolen from the bike rack on the north side of the building. The bicycle had been secured with a U-shaped bike lock. Loss Value: $500.00.

Parking Lot 104, 1900 North IH-35

Recovered on 2-24-05 at 9:40 a.m.

Recovered Stolen Property: A Kenwood AM/FM stereo with a detachable faceplate that had been reported stolen during a recent motor vehicle burglary was located and recovered from an Austin business. A suspect has been identified from this recovery.

Noncriminal Calls: In addition to the above criminal cases, UTPD responded to 9 alarm calls, 2 unsecured door reports, 3 fire alarms, and 2 public assist calls between 2-24-05 and 2-25-05.
