Beauford H. Jester Center East, 203 East 21st Street

Occurred between 3-3-05 at 2:15 p.m. and 3-4-05 at 1:45 p.m.

Theft: A blue and silver Vertical 21 speed bicycle was stolen while it was secured with a 1/2 inch cable lock to a bicycle rack located by the east main entrance to the dormitory. Loss value: $125.00.

Occurred on 3-5-05 at 1:45 a.m.

Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor: A UT student, who was under the age of 21, began following a resident assistant after the resident assistant requested the student and his associates keep the noise level down while they engaged in a gathering in a 3rd floor dormitory room. The student repeatedly stated the resident assistant was being unfair. The student was found to have consumed alcoholic beverages.

Peter T. Flawn Academic Center, #2 West Mall

Occurred on 3-2-05 between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

Criminal Mischief / Assault: An unidentified subject(s) damaged presentation trays used to hold cakes, cookies and candies that were being handed out in celebration of Texas Independence Day. The UT student who organized the celebration was struck by a piece of cookie and a piece of candy after the items had been thrown by someone at the back of a group of people. Repair cost: $20.00.

Peter T. Flawn Academic Center, #2 West Mall

Occurred on 3-7-05 at 6:20 a.m.

Criminal Trespass: A non-UT subject was found sleeping on a couch in the basement of the building. The subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning.

1700 Red River

Occurred on 3-4-05 at 8:47 p.m.

Assist Outside Agency: A non-UT subject who was driving a 1995 Isuzu Rodeo was stopped for disregarding the lawful order of a police officer who was directing traffic at a controlled pedestrian crosswalk. The subject had two outstanding outside agency arrest warrants.

San Jacinto and Dean Keeton

Occurred on 3-6-05 at 2:15 a.m.

Driving While Intoxicated: A non-UT subject was stopped for disregarding a red light and speeding while driving a tan colored 1998 Chevrolet pick-up truck. The subject was found to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage to the point he was driving while intoxicated.

Occurred on 3-5-05 at 6:28 p.m.

Leaving the Scene Collision: An unidentified subject backed his 1997 Toyota Land Cruiser into the left door of a parked 2002 Honda Civic. The driver of the vehicle left a note containing a name and telephone number. The owner of the struck vehicle advised she was unable to contact anyone based on the name and telephone number left on the vehicle. A witness to the collision left a note providing the striking vehicle's license plate number. Repair cost: $600.00.

Occurred on 3-6-05 at 3:55 a.m.

Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor (3 counts): Three UT students, who were all under the age of 21, were found walking down the middle of the roadway. All three students were found to have consumed alcoholic beverages. One of the three students had previously fallen asleep as a result of his alcohol consumption. While asleep, an unidentified subject used a marker to write words and draw on his arms, legs and neck.

San Jacinto Residence Hall, 309 East 21st Street

Occurred between 3-3-05 at 2:00 p.m. and 3-4-05 at 6:30 a.m.

Criminal Mischief: Two letters were broken off of the Cypress Bend store sign located on the east side of the store. Repair cost: $225.00.

Simkins Hall Dormitory, 2501 San Jacinto Blvd.

Reported on 3-5-05 at 12:15 a.m.

Criminal Mischief: An unidentified object was used to break the exterior window out of a 2nd floor dormitory room. Repair cost: $150.00.

Walter Webb Hall, 2500 Gudalupe

Occurred on 3-6-05 at 12:53 a.m.

Public Intoxication: A non-UT subject was observed "staggering and swaying" while walking along the east side of the building. The subject had difficulty following directions and refused to stop when directed to do so by a police officer. The subject was found to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage to the point he was a physical endangerment to himself.

100 East 21st Street

Occurred on 3-6-05 at 3:50 a.m.

Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor (2 counts): A UT student, who was under the age of 21, was found "staggering" down the sidewalk. Two other UT students, who were also under the age of 21, were assisting the that student with her balance. The staggering student and one of her assistants were found to have consumed alcoholic beverages.

300 East 21st Street

Occurred on 3-5-05 at 3:10 a.m.

Public Intoxication (2 Counts): A UT student and a non-UT subject were found near a bus stop bench. The non-UT subject was found leaning over the back of the bench while exhibiting a severe involuntary physical reaction to the over consumption of alcoholic beverages. At that time, the student was lying on his back behind the bench in what could only be called the splash zone. The student was also exhibiting an extreme involuntary physical reaction to the over consumption of an alcoholic beverage. Both subjects were found to be under the influence of alcoholic beverages to the point they were both a physical endangerment to themselves.

Noncriminal Calls: In addition to the above criminal cases, UTPD responded to 39 alarm calls, 11 unsecured door reports, 5 suspicious activity reports, 6 welfare concern reports, 3 found property reports, 4 collision reports, 2 medical emergency reports,2 lighting surveys and 8 public assist reports between 3-4-05 and 3-7-05.
