Crime Prevention Tip

It is common to see an increase in thefts at the end of each semester. Thieves know that people are less likely to question someone moving items or loading boxes or bicycles into a vehicle, as it is commonplace at the end of a semester. Furthermore, thieves know that the libraries are prime locations for backpack, textbook and laptop thefts during finals, as students saturate libraries during finals with such easy to sell items. Do not leave your property unsecured and unattended. Report suspicious activity as soon as possible. The University of Texas at Austin Police Department is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week at 471-4441.
