Jesse H. Jones Communication Center, 2504 Whitis Avenue

Occurred on 5-15-05 between 3:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

Theft: A black Novara Buzz bicycle was stolen while it was secured with a cable lock to a bicycle rack located on the south side of the building. Loss value: $600.00.

Neighborhood Longhorns Program Building, 1301 East 7th Street

Occurred between 5-2-05 at 1:30 p.m. and 5-17-05 at 1:30 p.m.

Harassment: An unidentified subject has placed several annoying and unwanted telephone calls to a UT staff member's 2nd floor office. In each call, the caller disconnects the telephone call when the staff member answers the telephone.

Parking Lot 37, 2200 Red River

Occurred on 5-12-05 between 6:00 p.m. and 11:55 p.m.

Leaving the Scene Collision: The left front quarter panel to a 1997 Ford Ranger pick-up truck was dented while the truck was parked in the lot. The driver of the striking vehicle left the scene without leaving driver information. Repair cost: $500.00.

1900 San Jacinto Blvd.

Occurred on 5-17-05 between 5:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m.

Burglary of Motor Vehicle: A silver Nokia cellular telephone, a pair of Nike tennis shoes, two compact disks, a credit card and a brown wallet containing $10.00 in cash, a Texas driver's license and a credit card were stolen from an unsecured 2003 Jeep Wrangler. The owner left the vehicle unsecured as her parents advised her it would be cheaper to replace property than to replace a vehicle window. Loss value: $235.00.

Crime Prevention Tip

Make a thief work for what they want to steal. By leaving property inside your unsecured car, you make a thief's job very easy. Never leave your vehicle unsecured, and never leave property inside your vehicle. Remember, auto burglars window shop too.

2600 Wichita

Occurred on 5-17-05 at 6:24 p.m.

Assist Outside Agency: A non-UT subject was stopped for driving a 1999 Nissan Altima the wrong way on a one-way roadway. The owner of the vehicle, a non-UT subject, was a passenger inside the vehicle. The owner had three outstanding outside agency arrest warrants.
