Development Office Building, 2901 North IH-35

Occurred between 5-26-05 at 5:00 p.m. and 5-27-05 at 8:00 a.m.

Graffiti: Blue spray paint was used to write words on the side of a metal storage building on the east side of the building. Removal cost: $30.00.

2200 Guadalupe

Occurred on 5-29-05 at 6:30 p.m.

Assist Outside Agency (2 Counts): A known juvenile with an active warrant from a juvenile detention facility was found walking down the roadway with another non-UT subject. The other subject was found to have an outstanding outside agency arrest warrant for a pedestrian in the roadway offense.

2300 Guadalupe

Occurred on 5-28-05 at 2:30 a.m.

Driving While Intoxicated / Driving While License Suspended: A non-UT subject was stopped for driving a red 1997 Geo without its headlamps activated. The subject was found to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage and a prescription medication to the point she was driving while intoxicated. The subject's driver's license had been suspended earlier in the year for driving while intoxicated.

2500 Guadalupe

Occurred on 5-28-05 at 11:30 p.m.

Public Intoxication: A non-UT subject was found having difficulty standing and walking. Prior to being stopped, the subject began to perform a bodily function while standing in the center of the sidewalk. The subject was found to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage to the point he was a physical endangerment to himself.

J.J. Pickle Research Campus, 10100 Burnet Road

Occurred on 5-29-05 between 11:45 a.m. and 12:45 p.m.

Burglary of Motor Vehicle: A black camera case containing an Olympus C5060 camera was stolen from the front seat of a white pick-up truck while the vehicle was left unsecured with the driver's window rolled-down by building 130 and 131. Loss value: $550.00.

Beauford H. Jester Center, 201 East 21st Street

Occurred on 5-30-05 at 3:45 a.m.

Criminal Trespass: A non-UT subject was found lying down in an area reserved for faculty, staff and students. The subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning.

200 East Jester Circle

Occurred on 5-30-05 at 11:45 p.m.

Driving While License Suspended: A UT student was stopped for running a stop sign while operating a 1998 Isuzu Rodeo. The student's driver's license had been suspended in 2004 for failing to maintain financial responsibility.

Parking Lot 108, 1500 Red River

Occurred on 5-26-05 between 7:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m.

Criminal Mischief: A sharp object was used to scratch the left side of a blue 2003 Pontiac 2-door while it was parked in the east side of the Parking Lot. Repair cost: $300.00.

Physical Plant 1, 1309 East Dean Keeton

Discovered on 5-27-05 at 12:30 p.m.

Graffiti: A black permanent marker was used to write words on a cement wall located on the northeast side of the building. Removal cost: $30.00.

2400 Robert Dedman Drive

Occurred on 5-30-05 at 1:45 p.m.

Leaving the Scene Collision: A street sign pole was knocked to the ground when a bus driver backed a Coach USA bus into the pole. The driver of the bus left the scene without leaving driver information. Repair cost: $50.00.

10th Street and Nueces

Occurred on 5-28-05 at 3:30 a.m.

Driving While Intoxicated / Failure to Identify / Driving While License Suspended / Possession of a Controlled Substance: A non-UT subject was stopped for driving a green Mitsubishi sport utility vehicle the wrong way on a one-way roadway. The subject initially provided police officers with a fictitious name and date of birth. The subject was found to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage to the point he was driving while intoxicated. The subject was found to be driving while his driver's license was suspended. A plastic bag containing a small amount of cocaine was found on the front floorboard of the vehicle. Two female passengers in the vehicle stated they had met the subject earlier in the evening and that he agreed to drive them home. The two were concerned that the subject was driving them in an opposite direction from their residence.

Noncriminal Calls: In addition to the above criminal cases, UTPD responded to 27 alarm calls, 22 unsecured door reports, 12 light survey reports, 1 collision, 3 medical emergencies, 5 suspicious activity reports, 2 welfare concern reports and 6 public assist requests between 5-27-05 and 5-31-05.
