Claudia Taylor Johnson Hall, 210 West 6th Street

Occurred on 8-6-05 at 2:30 a.m.

Public Intoxication: A non-UT subject was observed loitering and stumbling in a pedestrian crosswalk located on the east side of the building. The subject was found to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage to the point he was a physical endangerment to himself and others.

Colorado Street at 7th Street

Occurred on 8-6-05 AT 3:10 a.m.

Driving While Intoxicated: A UT student was stopped for driving a Honda Accord the wrong way on a one-way roadway. The student was found to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage to the point he was driving while intoxicated.

900 East Dean Keeton

Occurred on 8-7-05 at 1:00 a.m.

Driving While Intoxicated / Assist Outside Agency: A UT student, who was driving a 2002 Acura, was stopped for running a red light. The student was found to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage to the point he was driving while intoxicated. A passenger in the vehicle, who was also a UT student, was found to have an outstanding outside agency arrest warrant for a traffic violation.

Garrison Hall, #3 East Mall

Discovered on 8-7-05 at 2:15 p.m.

Burglary: A glass window insert was broken from a door to a 1st floor classroom. The lock to the door was unlocked when an unidentified subject reached through the broken window and manipulated the door's lock. At this time, it is unknown if any items were stolen from the room. Evidence at the scene suggested the person responsible may have been injured while breaking the window. Repair cost: $50.00. Loss value: undetermined at this time.

Geography Building, 210 West 24th Street

Occurred between 8-6-05 at 3:00 p.m. and 8-7-05 at 1:00 p.m.

Criminal Mischief: The glass window inserts were broken out of a door to a 4th floor lab, a door to a 4th floor classroom, and a door to a 3rd floor office. Each of the three doors remained locked. The 3rd floor office door, while locked, was standing open. At this time, it is unknown if any items were stolen from the three rooms. Repair cost: $150.00.

Main Building, #1 South Mall

Occurred on 8-6-05 at 5:00 a.m.

Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor: Two non-UT subjects, one of whom was under the age of 21, were found sitting on the steps located on the south side of the building. Both subjects were found to have consumed alcoholic beverages.

200 East Martin Luther King Blvd.

Occurred on 8-6-05 at 3:40 a.m.

Public Intoxication: A UT student was found "bent forward" while exhibiting an extreme involuntary physical reaction to the over-consumption of an alcoholic beverage. Believing a police vehicle was a taxi-cab, the student flagged the officer down to solicit a ride. The student was found to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage to the point he was a physical endangerment to himself and others. The student was given a fare-free ride, but not to his desired destination.

O. Henry Hall, 601 Colorado

Occurred on 8-7-05 at 5:30 a.m.

Assist Outside Agency: A non-UT subject was found sleeping on the west patio of the building. The subject was found to have two outstanding outside agency arrest warrants for lying down in a public place and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Parking Lot 102, 2200 Comal Street

Discovered on 8-6-05 at 3:30 p.m.

Graffiti: Red spray paint and a stencil were used to draw an image on the back of a stop sign by the east exit to the Parking Lot. Removal cost: $40.00.

Parlin Hall, #2 South Mall

Discovered on 8-7-05 at 11:15 a.m.

Criminal Mischief: The glass window insert to a 2nd floor room was broken. Evidence at the scene suggested the person responsible may have been injured while breaking the window. At this time, it is unknown if any items were stolen from the room. Repair cost: $50.00.

Perry-Castañeda Library, 101 East 21st Street

Occurred on 8-7-05 at 11:30 a.m.

Criminal Trespass: A non-UT subject was found in the library. The subject had previously been issued a written criminal trespass warning for the library.

Physical Plant #8, 1201 East Dean Keeton

Discovered on 8-7-05 at 11:00 a.m.

Graffiti: White spray paint was used to write an illegible word on a metal roll-up door on the north side of the building. Removal cost: $50.00.

2300 Robert Dedman Drive

Occurred on 8-8-05 at 2:55 a.m.

Driving While Intoxicated: A non-UT subject was stopped for driving a 2004 Hyundai sport utility vehicle 50 MPH in a 15 MPH zone. The subject was found to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage to the point he was driving while intoxicated.

Townes Hall, 727 East Dean Keeton

Discovered on 8-7-05 at 8:44 a.m.

Theft: A television, of an unknown brand, was stolen while it was secured to a ceiling mounted platform in a 2nd floor hallway. Loss value: unknown at this time.

Union Building, #4 West Mall

Occurred on 8-6-05 at 10:13 p.m.

Public Intoxication / Criminal Trespass: A non-UT subject was observed exiting the building while demonstrating signs of intoxication. The subject was found to be under the influence of an unknown substance to the point Austin-Travis County EMS needed to transport the subject to a local hospital for observation and treatment. The subject was found to have previously been issued a written criminal trespass warning for the Union Building.

University of Texas Elementary School, 2200 East 6th Street

Discovered on 8-6-05 at 11:55 p.m.

Graffiti: A red indelible marker and a green indelible marker were used to write the same phrase on the north exterior wall to the building and on a power box on the west side of the building. Removal cost: $50.00.

200 Block of 23rd Street

Occurred on 8-5-05 at 8:00 p.m.

Assist Outside Agency: A non-UT subject was stopped for driving the wrong way on a one-way roadway. The subject did not have a driver license. A friend of the subject was summoned to drive the vehicle away. The summoned friend was not in possession of a driver license and was found to have an outstanding outside agency arrest warrant for possession of a controlled substance.

Noncriminal Calls: In addition to the above criminal cases, UTPD responded to 12 alarm calls, 16 unsecured door reports, 3 suspicious activity reports, 1 light survey and 4 calls for service between 8-5-05 and 8-8-05.
