John A. & Katherine G. Jackson Geological Sciences Building, #10 East Mall

Occurred on 9-20-05 between 8:30 PM and 10:30 PM.

Theft: A wallet containing $480.00 cash and various credit and identification cards was stolen when it was left inside an unsecured 2nd floor auditorium. The wallet was later found inside a 2nd floor restroom. The cash was stolen from the wallet.

Crime Prevention Tip:

Wallets are frequently stolen when they are left unattended and unsecured. The most secure way to carry your wallet is on your person. By keeping your wallet in your pocket you are less likely to leave it unattended. Keeping your wallet in your front pocket, you decrease the likelihood of being pick-pocketed. You should also limit the amount of cash you carry.

Kinsolving Dormitory, 2605 Whitis

Occurred between 9-13-05 and 9-19-05.

Harassment: A 5th floor resident has received numerous unwanted and annoying e-mails from a former high school acquaintance.

Parking Lot 111, 2200 Salina

Occurred between 9-18-05 at 10:50 PM and 9-21-05 at 3:45 PM.

Criminal Mischief: The right opera window was broken out of a Mitsubishi Montero Sport while it was parked in the Parking Lot. No items were stolen from the vehicle. Repair cost: $125.00.

Occurred at various times.

Non-Criminal Calls: In addition to the above criminal cases, The University of Texas Police Department responded to 3 alarm calls, 1 unsecured door report, 1 suspicious activity report, 1 motor vehicle collision, 1 medical emergency report and 0 calls for service between 9-21-05 and 9-22-05.
