Ashbell Smith Hall, 201 West 7th Street

Occurred on 9-26-05 at 1:15 AM.

Assist Outside Agency / Criminal Trespass: A non-UT subject was found sleeping behind a bush located on the east side of the building. The subject was found to have three outstanding outside agency arrest warrants for failure to appear for various alcohol related offenses. In addition to other law enforcement action taken, the subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning.

Colorado Building, 702 Colorado

Discovered on 9-24-05 at 5:20 AM.

Graffiti: A white permanent marker was used to write letters on a window located on the north side of the building. Removal cost: $35.00.

Goldsmith Hall, #5 West Mall

Occurred on 9-24-05 at 6:45 PM.

Criminal Trespass: A non-UT subject was found pulling on secured doors located on the west side of the building. The subject originally advised he was a UT student. The subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning.

Jesse H. Jones Communication Center, 2504-A Whitis

Occurred on 9-25-05 between 9:45 Pm and 11:45 PM.

Criminal Mischief: An unknown subject(s) threw a rock at the plastic cover to a food vending machine located inside the north parking garage of the building. The cover to the machine was broken out of the machine. At this time, it is unknown if any product was stolen from the machine. Repair cost: $100.00.

Jester Center Academic, 201 East 21st Street

Occurred on 9-25-05 between 1:30 PM and 1:40 PM.

Theft: A black colored Docker tri-fold wallet containing $50.00 cash, 8 credit cards, and an ATM card was stolen when it was left on a countertop located inside the Jester City Limits cafeteria. Loss value: $60.00.

Littlefield Carriage House, 2410 Whitis

Occurred on 9-23-05 at 6:00 PM.

Criminal Trespass: A non-UT subject was found taking a nap in the flower bed located on the south side of the building. The subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning.

Parking Lot 106, 2200 Chicon

Occurred on 9-23-05 between 5:15 PM and 6:15 PM.

Criminal Mischief: An unknown object was used to scratch the paint along the left side of a silver colored 2004 Kia while the vehicle was parked in the lot. Repair cost: $300.00.

Parking Lot F-27, 2600 Whitis

Occurred on 9-23-05 between 8:00 AM and 3:20 PM.

Criminal Mischief: An unknown object was used to scratch the paint along the right side of a silver colored 2003 BMW while the vehicle was parked in the lot. Repair cost: $300.00.

Penick-Allison Tennis Center, 1701 Trinity

Occurred on 9-25-05 at 9:45 AM.

Criminal Trespass: A non-UT subject was found sleeping on a bench located on the east side of the tennis center. The subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning.

Physical Plant Building 2, 1720 Manor

Occurred between 9-9-05 and 9-23-05 at 9:00 AM.

Burglary of Motor Vehicle: A vehicle battery was stolen from under the hood of a 1986 Dodge Ram pick-up truck while the vehicle was parked on the north side of the building. Loss value: $40.00.

2400 San Jacinto

Occurred on 9-24-05 at 3:00 AM.

Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor (2 counts): Two UT students, who were both under the age of 21, were found stumbling and staggering as they walked near the roadway. The students stated they had been drinking a party in a nearby fraternity house.

Occurred on 9-24-05 at 3:00 AM.

Driving While Intoxicated: A UT staff member was stopped for disregarding a stop sign while driving a Ford Ranger pick-up truck. The staff member was found to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage to the point he was driving while intoxicated.

School of Social Work Building, 1925 San Jacinto

Occurred on 9-23-05 between 3:15 PM and 4:00 PM.

Theft / Credit Card Abuse: A Swiss brand backpack containing a Dell Latitude laptop computer, a computer mouse, a computer power cord and a Visa check card was stolen from an unsecured 3rd floor corridor. Before the Visa check card could be cancelled, a total of $703.77 worth of unauthorized charges had been made at local stores. Loss value: $1,540.00.

Union Building, #4 West Mall

Occurred between 9-21-05 at 6:00 PM and 9-23-05 at 6:58 PM.

Criminal Mischief: A wooden object was used to strike the plexi-glass cover to a poster display near the Cactus Cafe. The object caused the plexi-glass to crack. Repair cost: $50.00.

Union Building, #4 West Mall

Occurred on 9-25-05 between 4:00 PM and 5:30 PM.

Graffiti: An unknown object was used to scratch a word into the surface of a mirror located inside a 3rd floor mens restroom. Repair cost: $75.00.

Union Building, #4 West Mall

Discovered on 9-25-05 at 10:30 PM.

Graffiti: An unknown object was used to scratch words on a wall inside a 1st floor mens restroom. Repair cost: $100.00.

University Police Building, 2201 Robert Dedman

Occurred on 9-25-05 at 10:15 PM.

Criminal Mischief (2 counts) / Evading / Resisting Arrest / Attempted Escape from Custody: A UT student walked through a parking lot located on the east side of the building. The student returned a short time later carrying a rock. The student threw the rock at the left side of a parked patrol vehicle two times, causing the left front window of the vehicle to break. The student fled on foot toward Robert Dedman and entered an awaiting Subaru that was being driven by another UT student. Officers were able to stop the vehicle a short distance later. After being stopped and ordered to exit the vehicle, the student who had thrown the rock at the police vehicle fled on foot again. Once that student was stopped, he resisted arrest by kicking at officers. Before being placed in a patrol vehicle, the student attempted to escape by breaking free from an officer and running a short distance.

Whitaker Fields, 51st Street and Guadalupe

Occurred on 9-24-05 at 11:30 AM.

Criminal Trespass (2 counts): A UT student and a non-UT subject were stopped after climbing over the perimeter fence in order to enter the closed fields. Both subjects were issued written criminal trespass warnings.

200 West 6th Street

Occurred on 9-25-05 at 2:42 AM.

Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor: A non-UT subject, who was under the age of 21, was found stumbling and staggering near the roadway. The subject was found to have consumed alcoholic beverages.

200 West 21st Street

Occurred on 9-25-05 at 4:06 AM.

Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor: A UT student, who was under the age of 21, was found stumbling and staggering near the roadway. The subject was found to have consumed alcoholic beverages.

300 West 21st Street

Occurred on 9-24-05 at 1:30 AM.

Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor (2 counts): Two UT students, who were both under the age of 21, were found standing near the roadway. An officer stopped the students after one of them stumbled and fell to the ground. Both students were found to have consumed alcoholic beverages.

Non-Criminal Calls: In addition to the above criminal cases, The University of Texas Police Department responded to 25 alarm calls, 1 unsecured door report, 3 suspicious activity reports, 3 motor vehicle collisions, 1 medical emergency reports, 1 welfare concern report, 1 light survey and 10 public assist requests between 9-23-05 and 9-26-05.
